I would like to know who's idea it was to have influencers host this and not some real correspondents. I have seen a lot of cringe clips from this on X with the people hosting this stumbling through interviewing people and talking about things. The clips I saw were like the equivalent to the tween age kids that interviewed celebs on the Disney Channel, only these people are in late 20s to early 30s.

I really wanted to watch this on the background while I worked today, but given what I saw via clips, I will keep bingeing Top Chef today.

Highly recommend watching The Today Show preview of the park. They did a great job capturing the heart of each land and highlighting the rides, food, characters, etc.
After watching it I really am impressed with the rollout of the park. They have let social media not only do the advertising well beyond the actual advertising, but looked at what was resonating with the guests in the previews and what went viral and leaned into it. The Toothless meet and greet, Ygor, the Mac and cheese cones, the butterbeer crepes, all HUGE hits among the fans now being shown to the bigger audience. The only thing they left out was Captain Cacao, and I think that’s only because they sold out of the plush weeks ago.

Orlando International has great social media, and their post today was amazing:

For what it’s worth, they did the same tactic during previews—intentionally capped attendance, starting off small, and then raising that cap as time went on. Give it probably a month or so and we’ll see the park closer full capacity. And they also initially only had these tickets available for opening day as part of the vacation ticket packages, then for passholders. You couldn’t even purchase a single day ticket for opening day until literally the day before and you had to do it in person at Guest Services in Citywalk. I believe they released and sold about 600 tickets? They were $211/ea after tax.

Me in sequence just now…..

Oh! 1 day tickets are available for Epic!
Oh! I can fly to Orlando round trip for under $200 with JetBlue!
Oh! Plenty of cheap hotels nearby!

No…….stop looking at Hotels NO! Bad! You said just Canadas Wonderland this season! You SAID IT you can wait till 2026 to go back to Orlando! Do the adult thing!

*cuts to me dispatching on Stardust Racers within a month……

Do it. Just do it. It's worth it.

I’m going to be honest. Having been able to visit several times already, I still haven’t gotten to do everything there is to offer in this park. Notable things I have not yet been able to do:
-get a Mac and cheese cone from berk
-eat at blue dragon
-eat at atlantic
-eat at toadstool
-eat at pizza moon
-eat at Cafe De La Sirene
-marathon stardust
-marathon hiccups wing gliders
-marathon monsters unchained
-meet Ygor
-monster makeup experience
-spend even more money in merch (I’ve spent a lot on it already)

The withdrawals are real.

Short story. So years ago when my dad would spend winters in Tampa with his brother, my uncle drove by a Vespa dealership daily. And there was a mint green Vespa that he loved sitting there. Was $12k. A week later marked to $11k. Kept telling my dad how much he loved the scooter. Just wanted to get it. 10 days later $9500. My uncle keeps talking about wanting the scooter, 1.5 mile commute to his school, it would be perfect.

My dad just finally said “buy the fucking scooter”. That day my uncle asked my dad to walk over to get his car because he bought the fucking scooter.

So, heeding my dad’s advice.

Book the fucking hotel.
Get the fucking flight.
And buy the fucking ticket.

Can confirm. Our day at Epic Universe two weeks ago was a game changer and core life memory for my family. So cool to experience it so new.
