Current look at Top Thrill construction site

hard to tell, but it appears that all that is remaining of the station is the roof? I know some videos were saying that was all going to remain as is

Regardless of ETR's overall content accuracy, he may be onto something with all the work being done around the station area.

Conspiracy theory: Intamin is doing this, they are adding a spike thus need to remove the existing station to accommodate (uses the fast switch track concept), new station is further into the infield with a track switch out of the station to the first launch section. Keeps a racing theme though with train upgrades for LSMs it'll be a different autosport.

Close up view from Winter Chill Out today. It looks like roughly 9 supports and about 3 to 4 track segments have been removed from Iron Dragon. However, track repair is normal for Arrow coasters and especially suspended coasters. But it's still possible this is related to TTD. This area is directly behind the Top Thrill (former) station.

Image quality is kind of sketch but the black bits you see at the end of the track are welded on in order to maintain the shape of the track. Arrow track has never really been bolted together so if you gotta replace track it's more the blowtorch style work than the nip and tuck with some bolts like with modern steel coasters.

Does this mean it will be single train operations? Or will it have a fast switch track like Pantheon?

Would have to have a track switch somewhere. Could be an in-motion switch like Pantheon, or a transfer style like Ice Breaker. Either would work.

I'm thinking the standard transfer track is more likely if they aren't going with Intamin for the rebuild, especially as units they do something whacky it's not like they can really increase capacity much with a fast switch any more than a transfer... Maybe one extra dispatch an hour is my guess.

Maybe we end up with an Icebreaker like transfer.

So after careful analysis and watching multiple youtube videos I've come to the following conclusion - switch track with a spike. I don't think an LSM can clear 400ft in a single launch so it would require multiple launches. I just saw a video that says it would take a minute to do this (I saw this on youtube so it must be true) which is reasonable. If you have a switch track, you can load passengers while one of the trains are launched. This also allows multiple trains so you can launch one after another. This would also allow longer trains. The only problem is that there isn't enough room in the station for a switch track but chances are they'll have to move the station anyway. Could be the removed track is the start of the spike. Feel free to ridicule me endlessly if I'm wrong. Not sure if gambling is allowed on this site.
From Oct 2022 - when you're right you're right

Except on this. Intamin's capable of pulling that off. Not sure on Zamperla.

My big question at this stage is how the switch will be done. The two options in my mind are:
1. Switch in front of the station, possible load station still under the canopy. It would be an incredibly tight fit, but it would allow for the pull-up required for a 400+ft spike.

2. A switch behind the station, load & unload shifted to before the switch track. This makes more sense space-wise, but I don't think a giant spike is possible with that limited space between the possible switch location and the location of groundwork at the park.

Also perplexing; Why is the station canopy still up?? Has to be weird to repurpose that.
