The handouts to the media gave a list of all the park managers, and requested interviews be limited to just those individuals. After all, it is not fair to the ride operators or food workers to be put on the spot for an interview they were not prepared for. On another note, if you were hosting a marketing event, would you like an invited guest telling the media in attendace "the new ride is terrible, the older ride had a stronger launch." (For the record, I am not saying the ride is terrible, even though I like aggressive launches.)
A couple of technical design bits on the ride that only fellow needs will find interesting:
The station gates are able to be disabled individually. For example, if row eight was out of service on the blue train, or was loaded with a exit pass guest in the unload station, the gate will not open for that row. I am unaware of any other rides that have this feature.
Row five on the unload side has a difference in the restraint. The right bar has less of a bend in it, presumably to make it easier for a person with mobility issues to load (less ducking needed while loading). Since this bar is beside the riders arm, it is padded.

I’ve seen some comments on YouTube channels about complaints of arms hurting during the 2nd and 3rd launch and the spiral down if you take your hands off the restraints. Also there seems to be some issues with the ADA line where it was overloaded and 1 of 3 trains was 100% ADA line people. Basically they were handing out passes for ADA at the attraction by people (reportedly) complaining their ankles or back hurt.

Also it’s $3 a locker before the line and it’s 90 minute wait (rumored) inside the metal detector? I’m assuming you can’t take anything with you past the detector.

The metal detector is at the very outset of the line. So when I rode, I put my items in a locker, passed through the detector, and was in line for 3 hours. Nothing goes past the detector.

Are they allowing smart watches at least?

In almost 20 years of running a website focused on the history of a park with several accidents and one of the most consequential events in park history in its past it would have been easy to sensationalize and go into great detail about what happened, how it happened, and who was involved. We always mention those incidents but don't dwell on them, don't expound on them beyond "this happened, and here is what the aftermath was". There are several ride accident websites and videos out there who are happy to go into every detail (and conspiracy theory).

What you just called sensationalism, I would call useful and interesting information.

Understanding that this debate has gotten muddied by the conflation of two issues: CP's relationship with the media and CP's reported gag order for ACE media event guests, there is a thread dedicated to the former issue:

So, for debates over how CP treats the press and how they report on CP please go there.

I wonder if this is related to the rumored launch speed decrease post-media day? Unexpectedly fast wear on the wheels or something maybe? There were also folks claiming the silver train had a uniquely noticable rattle vs the other trains. Could be related too?

Needless to say, horrible look for Cedar Point and Zamperla.
