No, you're not wrong. ElToroRyan estimated that, with modern LSMS, you could clear the top hat in one pass, no spike required.I just thought of something.
Taron goes from near standstill to 50 in about 200 feet.
Velocicoaster does near standstill to 50 in about 200 feet.
And this needs over 550 feet to get going to 72. I don't know the math on everything be this all seems....weak? Especially when it needs all near 600 feet to get to 100 then 120 using a total of 1700 feet of track. Am I wrong in thinking that's not super impressive for the track length they have to work with?
I find doing the whole CP racing thing when nothing else in the park carries the moniker very strange too. For a company that gets all the praise for Jungle-X, Aeronautical Landing at Caro, I've seen some praise for spots of CW redo to come up with this is just dumbfoundedly bad. I'm just trying to wrap my head around how bad/disappointing this all is.I'm completely nonplussed by the coaster part of this announcement and absolutely flabbergasted by the branding choice here.
They picked the bare minimum, most conservative route for the coaster hardware here. To be clear, from a practical standpoint, I get it. That said, sanity feels antithetical to the legacy of the Top Thrill Dragster brand—a coaster that was the very embodiment of extravagance.
That tonal change for the coaster paired with the dark cloud of the Top Thrill Dragster brand now and in the coming years makes the choice to name the coaster something involving the original name deeply confusing to me. They had a chance handed to them on a golden platter to rebrand the coaster that nearly killed someone and that they're actively engaged in a high profile lawsuit over and they just threw it out the window. Oh and even if they wanted to make a sequel to Dragster, "Top Thrill 2?" Just embarrassing.
You're correct that it's not that impressive of a first launch. They probably could have done 90-105-120mph passes, but obviously didn't do that for whatever reason. I just hope the first launch starts with a good 'kick'; it appears that way from the b-roll, but we'll see.I just thought of something.
