Question was the trainer he killed mistreating him? Cause I know that in certain situations animals that have been mistreated by the same person repeatedly later lash out against that person due to remembering the abuse.

^Please don't let us turn this situation on Dawn. I can hardly type, much less speak how I feel about this. I just think it's pointless and frankly, cruel to point at Tilikum or Dawn.

I'm not I just want to everything to be set straight for incidents such as that are horrible for all involved.

And to Preztel kaiser what you said is all to true because despite how long a wild animal has been in captivity it's still a wild animal and there are always risked to all parties involved.

People try to take big cats as pets all the time. This is never a good idea. NEVER. Not even Bobcats or Serval.

If this kind of thing upsets you as it does me you should check out Big Cat Rescue in Tampa

They are a great group of people who save big cats from bad situations and try to rehab them, place them, or care for them.

Reactions: The Hessian
The point is that Dawn never intended Tilikum to turn on her in such a tragic way. But, all trainers have full knowledge that these are WILD animals, and have the potential to be dangerous. We can't bring her back, but we certainly shouldn't question the worth of a life based on their past actions. Tilikum is a living animal that doesn't possess the same neurological system we have and can't make the same decisions, he can only be trained to respond positively to human interaction. What you need to realize Hessian, is that any wild animal, whale, polar bear, even a dog have natural tendencies to kill, it's a carnivoral instinct. Now I'm no biologist but these genes will be passed down to their children, as their ancestors have passed to them. Nothing changes. Now there may be implications and things happen, but that doesn't devalue them when they live on this earth. What SeaLand did to Tilikum was pretty terrible, but that doesn't mean SeaWorld can't try and help. It's their mission to help marine life prosper and survive for generations to come. Please don't be afraid to ask us if you have any further questions
