A few people confirmed it privately. Sounds like he's out.

Guess that's what happens when you take someone as talented as he was and have them work as a bartender dressed as a pirate. He will be missed and This is Oktoberfest won't be the same without him. :(

Awwwww. He had to be my favorite lead, that I've seen. Hopefully they can find another one as good as him. He had such a strong voice, and he was SO much better than 2011's lead. In 2011's version I felt like I was listening to a 12 year old boy. I guess we'll see what next year's lead will be like, hopefully he'll be just as good.

Fantastic find! That has to be the oldest This is Oktoberfest video I've ever seen.

I know! It's funny because it was right under our noses this whole time, on YouTube!

To be honest, I'm sure there's countless things like that out there online still. People post these things not realizing that there's a niche community that would kill for this kind of stuff. I've found countless things with some creative late-night web searching and I'm sure there's plenty more to be dug up too.

Gotta love the internet!!! :D

I see the plaque on the stage behind him. Was the a special day or something for him?

I'm guessing that was taken when it was presented to him but I don't have anything to back that up.

I believe that was his retirement ceremony. It was obvious that he liked his job, because he didn't retire until he needed two escorts to help him up the stairs. One of my favorite quotes from him: "I'm selfish, I sing because I enjoy it. If people enjoy me, that is a wonderful plus. I enjoy it when I see the smiles and the recognition from guests."

The Burgermeister and everything else that was once so grand about Das Festhaus.

Bob Baumann was (and continues to be) the heart and soul of Oktoberfest at BGW. Although he's performing in "Oktoberfest North" now :), his presence will always influence that venue...he set tradition, and the park has no choice but to follow it.

And THAT'S why "This is Oktoberfest!" is back at BGW.

I had the privilege to perform with him thousands of times over 15 seasons, and he was always an inspiration.

Umm I just noticed something. The video of TIO on the BGWfans YouTube page has 13,291 views! Making it the most viewed video on BGWfans' YouTube page for 2013! And it really blew everything else out of the water, and sky high, because the video that came in second place was Fiends at 6,039 views. That's right, TIO won by almost double the views of it's second place video! It has to be one of the most viewed videos on BGWfans' YouTube page! I may have contributed 25 or so to those views, but it seems as though MANY other people really wanted to watch This Is Oktoberfest!

I just really wanted to point this out. Long live This Is Oktoberfest!!!

Yay! Will definitely be at the first showing of the season! I love Celtic Fyre, but this show is truly my favorite in the park without a doubt, even in its watered-down state. And in my boredom state of a snow-day I noticed the video on BGWfans' Youtube channel has surpassed 15,000 views, as seen here! I'm hoping they might add 1 or 2 more musicians to the band, but I really don't mind how it stands now. Also, I'm hoping they could add one or two more numbers to both versions of the show, as they seemed somewhat short. But considering Scott probably won't go beyond the bare minimum for this show, I'm not expecting any big changes. But again I'm very happy that it's returning this year! Now I have to start worrying about 2015.:-/ :)P)

Hopefully they'll find a suitable replacement for Maxx.:-/ And technically Robert Bauman still is "in" the show in the form of voiceovers, as Scott said when he announced the show.

One of my BGW goals this season is to dance with ALL of the TIO ladies when they come out into the crowd.

Can we assume that it will still be on the same rotating schedule with that other show; later afternoon & evenings as well as all day on rest day for other cast?

I already got that goal accomplished in 2013! I didn't realize it until now, but yes I did dance with each and every lady who was on the TIO cast.(I went to a lot of showings)

I would think so, maybe a different break day for that other cast, but most likely yes.
