Noone is ever touching Rebel Yell. I wonder if Cedar Fair would venture over to MACK or Zerier. That old B&M rumor could also be null now with Verbolten, who knows.

^ Watch, KD will probably do a drop track too, but bigger than V-bolt's, and make it a HUGE marketing campaign. They would probably add an inversion or two.

I'm fairly sure both Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens know that copying each other doesn't help either of them.

The closest thing they have in common are family oriented, multi-launch coasters with trains themed to cars. Even then the two are drastically different experience wise.

I could easily see KD demolishing one of the existing woodies *coughrebelyellcough* and getting a RMC woodie.

ACE has their name plastered on Rebel Yell, Grizz or Hurler is more likely. You also can't forget that Cedar Fair LOOOOOOOOOVES GCIi. If they do go the wooden roller coaster route I can see GCIi happening over RMC.

Keep in mind that Cedar Fair is trying to go with those ride companies that have a proven track record. (Course, I am sure that CF is eating those words over the WindSeekers.) Kinzel made that decision to go with Moondial over the Starflyers. Matt Quimet did not have much involvement in that decision.

But, none the less, the park chain's current philosophy is focused on attractions with more reliability and also using their buying power (buying in bulk, so to speak). That is why there are so many WindSeekers in the park chain. Maybe they need to pull back on installing so many of one type of a new attraction until it has been in operation a couple of seasons. One year might not have given them enough time to evaluate the ride before installing them in the other parks; especially, since the WindSeekers rides were new to the ride market.

If Cedar Fair is happy with CGI, given the coaster manufacturer created/built WOF's "Prowler" and "Renegade" at Valley Fair, then I can see why they went with them for CGA's "Gold Striker" coaster. Rocky Mountain Coaster really just burst on the coaster scene with last years makeover of the The Texas Giant and this years makeover of The Rattler. Throw in Outlaw Run at SDC for this year as well. I would not be surprised if Cedar Fair takes a serious look at them to do something for the park chain, (a coaster makeover or a new coaster), in the next 3-4 years.

Given the issues with the Windseekers, Cedar Fair might be a little gun shy about jumping on the band wagon until a couple seasons of operation of RMC's work is under their belt. My guess is that CF will still try new, unproven rides; but, they might only install them in 1 or 2 parks and give the rides a couple seasons of operation before adding to any of the rest of the other parks in the chain.

Also wooden coasters and Iron Horse rides have been very popular these last two years after the New Texas Giant.

I can't stand Cedar Fair buying in bulk. I like difference when I visit other parks. Not seeing the same ride at each of them. WindSeekers were great for each park, because WindSeeker is for the view of the area, so it changes up a bit, but Dinosaurs Alive at each park is terrible. It's a terrible attraction to begin with. So hopefully Cedar Fair will stop their bulk buying and Kings Dominion can get something original.

I'm fairly sure Busch Gardens learned their lesson of copying with Mach Tower and that playing the "1-up" game with each other doesn't help either of them... Except for Halloween.

Fixed.

I am not so sure if BGW was in a "1-up" game with KD. In the Taft/KECO years, both parks were neck and neck with ride attractions and entertainment. BGW always had the edge in theme detail and food. When Paramount took over, Kings Dominion veered way off the track it had been running on with Busch Gardens. Unfortunately, for the worst.

BGW made giant leaps in rides and entertainment and the general park experience as a whole; while KD meandered all over the place. Paramount Studio's only had direct control of Kings Dominion and its sister parks for about the first 3-4 seasons of ownership. The former Taft/KECO park chain was then bounced around from one corporation to another under the Viacom corporate umbrella. KD and its sister parks were like the ugly stepchild that no one wanted and no one knew what to do with and they suffered terribly; especially the last 3-4 seasons under the Paramount name.

Using an analogy of retail stores, Busch Gardens is now a strong "Norstrom" borderline "Saks Fifth" in customer service and park experience. When Cedar Fair took over the former Taft/KECO/Paramount park chain, I felt Kings Dominion was barely a "Walmart" in customer service and park experience. In the seven years of ownership by Cedar Fair, they have brought it up to a strong "Kohl's" borderline "Macy's". I feel that, in the next 3-4 years, Cedar Fair can bring Kings Dominion to a strong "Macy's" borderline "Norstrom" in customer service and park experience. But, until Cedar Fair can pay down over half of its current debt and, in turn, invest some serious money in the parks, I can't see KD improving past that level.

I was speaking purely in terms of rides.

Canada's Wonderland is picking up on their 2015 ride replacement theme again and Kings Island is already confirmed to be getting a gigantic B&M Something-thing-a-ma-bob next year. I think it's about time KD gets thrown a bone, too.

I would love to see an Intamin ZacSpin. But, sadly it's not really an e-ticket attraction for the park and I'm sure KD wants something to bring a lot of people in. Or maybe the park can finally work with B&M. Will wingriders be a thing come 2015? Or will they have faded out?

I think they are gonna get one BIG launch coaster... And KD is gonna be done for a while. They'll have the most coasters on the east coast, The most launch coasters in the world, and they'll sit on that title and work on other park improvements in the meantime.
