I don't understand why they don't have a Loch Ness Monster sign on the front car. You paint it once and it's there the whole season. Not too much of an effort...

Well a lot of the times companies elect to use stickers instead. Apply a base paint and then just sticker over it to your hearts content. They last basically all year and then can be peeled off with a little heat and a scalpel.

Pretty much like this:

The kind old man at the Tweedside Station store told me that they will indeed have some fanfare for the 35th anniversary. Expect to see special t-shirts and the other usual items stamped with the 35th. Apparently there was a big sign made up to put up in front of the store but it wasn't delivered on time. Should be up in a week or two.
Also, they don't sell swords in there anymore. The cool display is gone. Said they weren't really selling enough to keep them stocked. If you get a hankerin, gotta go somewhere's else for your cutlass and rapier.

Thank God! I was so disappointed in the park to see that they had not put any celebration things up. Maybe they were waiting to put the sticker on the front of the trains until all the things came in. When you talk about the 35th anniversary sign, you said store, so is it going up in front of Tweedside gifts (I think that is what it is called) or in front of the entrance to the queue? I would much rather it be at the entrance. Also, I shall get that cup, and it will be my precious! I will use it until the 40th anniversary cup comes out. Long Live LNM!!!

I actually typed sticker, then backspaced and put paint :p
My point is, why leave the front car plain green? It could look so much better.

Having another throwback emblem or picture on the front would be a pretty cool addition.
I agree, the green is a bit plain, and I would like to see on the front one of the older LNM logos. A nice yellow emblem with the classic monster picture; it's a nice idea.

They use to have it on all the time but for some reason they don't do it anymore.

I saw a young girl riding this on Preview Day with earplugs in. Considering how noisy it can get, especially on the lift hills/brake run, this is a great idea.

My wife wants to know what happened to the hologram in the tunnel?

The park mastered hologram technology?!
He's referring to the Loch Ness Monster cutout that used to be at the end of the tunnel. It can be seen at the very beginning of this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f5g9WgIgJg

No, she said there was a projection of a monster on the left hand side inside the tunnel, it would roar and there would be fog.

So who thinks that they will put the stickers on the front of the car for its 35th anniversery? I wonder if they will alter the departure system that says " Enjoy your ride on the ledgendary Loch Ness Monster as it celebrates its 35th birthday?" They do this for every other coaster when they have fanfare every where. They did it to Apollo's Chariot for its 10th birthday and LNM for its 30th. Also I know there is going to be T- shirts with fanfare for the birthday on it but will they have cups too? I really hope they have cups. I can't see why they wouldn't do this stuff if they are going to have as much fanfare for its birthday as chickenking said in an earlier post.
Anyone have any answers or know anything yet?

I don't believe there was ever a projection in the tunnel. There certainly was a cutout in the tunnel on the left side. Perhaps your wife mistook the cutout for a projection?

Can someone please verify if there was ever a projection in the tunnel?

The park already confirmed cups.

And no there was never a projection. It was the cutout that was "bedazzled" with rhinestones, and fog with strobe-lights. I imagine the strobe-lights reflecting off the rhinestones with the fog may have given the impression of a projection of some kind but that is all that was ever inside the tunnel.
