The park already confirmed cups.

Oh. Thanks! It shall be mine, to add to my souvenier cup collection. And if anybody is going to the park this weekend can you see if they have set out all the fanfare yet for its 35th anniversary. It would be much appreciated!

Sadly no fanfare. Store guy said still doesn't know when. :(

I bet it will be up next weekend hopefully, I still won' be able to go to BGW for another 2 weeks. If it is not up by then, I will write a shame letter to BGW. I'm really sick n' tired of all this "It will be open/here in a week or 2" and then it doesn't show up for another month. Oh. Did you see if they had souvenier cups yet I really want one!

.... Did they ever even officially say there would be any signage/decorations/etc.?

Evidence comes below.
. Shane said that the park CONFIRMED souvenir cups
. Chickenking said that an old man in the shop told him: Elderly are the wisest
. Why would the park give an employee wrong info?
. The old man in the shop said it was late, and today he said he was still waiting
. And does the park ever have a major press release about putting a sign up and some souvenirs that say it is its 35th anniversary
. Plus they also said in the calendar "join us this year as we CELEBRATE LNM's 35th anniversary"
. don't try to make me sad that I won't get a souvenir cup

Employees are never given any type of information except "today is Nessie's 35th b-day expect a higher crowd today for just this ride." or something along the lines of that. People were saying Mach Tower was going to open in 2 weeks for 2 months each week. They're simply just not informed about anything and if they don't get notified about if a ride is opening then they won't get notified over the ride getting new decals for an anniversary.

The glow cart across form the barn owl in Scotland has orange beaded necklaces that have a light up medallion on them with loch ness on them, a poor illustration, I might add. But they are there for $5.00

I've noticed that Busch Gardens doesn't take out LNM's third train until sometime around spring break. Or when they really need it, has anyone else noticed this to? And does anyone know if it is out of the maintenance bay yet? I love when they have 3 train operations, it makes the line go really fast.

It costs money every time the train goes around the track if you think about it. The lift motors are turned on more, brakes are activated more, the staff needed to the run the trains, maintenance for the trains, ect. If you don't have to the amount of people to justify the need for those trains and lines are still kept short; why run more than that is needed.

All this talk of three trains reminds me of a question I had in my mind last summer. I seem to recall as a kid seeing two trains pass simultaneously through the loops, which is exciting to watch, both from the ground, and onboard. I haven't seen that happen in the past three summers I've been to the park. Are the trains timed differently now? I tend to go on weekdays, so maybe there are only two trains running and staggered such that they don't loop at the same time. Is there some safety reason? Idly curious minds want to know.

No Sometime in the early 2000's the park upgraded the computer system. And when they did this it did something (someone can tell you specifically what changed) to make sure that the trains didn't interlock in the loops anymore. Some people say that the new computer system slowed down the first lift hill, and some others say that The park made the MCBR go faster so the train goes through the loop faster. I don't know what specifically changed, but someone else can tell you. And yes they still run 3 trains on LNM, but like I said they aren't able to go through the loops anymore.

^Goodness Gracious, I wish it went that fast now. You could take a nap going up the lift now.

Well not with how loud it is, but it is very slow. But that lift hill isn't anywhere near how loud Alpengeist's is. I mean seriously you have to yell just to talk to the person next to you.

I've actually noticed that Alpie is quieter than when it first opened... way back in the day. I kind of enjoy the slow accent on Nessie too. Love it when the train is going by, I always try to wave at them as well as the folks on the sky ride. :)
