It would be AMAZING if it was open for CT, then I could continue my tradition of riding her first every time I go! :D

Does anyone know how much the temperature affects Nessie? She seemed slower and and rougher yesterday. Maybe it was just me. I was having a VERY bad day.

I found this cool Loch Ness Monster sign, poster, thing. It's pretty cool looking, imo. :)

Hi All,

Attached are two engineering drawings I found on my computer that I thought several might be interested in as they relate to the Loch Ness Monster. I received them from Arrow in the late 90's while considering an idea for coasters that was a little ahead of its time. These drawings should still be applicable to the original Loch Ness Monster trains.

While today the technology has finally caught up, I'm still not sure of the practicality of the idea. But it actually got me to thinking about a new project that is easier to implement and which can be used on many more coasters.

Anyway, I hope someone finds the drawing interesting and useful for this thread.

Incredible... $9.25 for admission!  Today, that wouldn't even pay for parking!

On another note, I've noticed that Nessie has a longer queue area behind the diving equipment display.  Has anyone here seen the line so long that the outdoor queue was used?  Every time I've visited, I go right into the little castle building.

Ljk77, It has been a while since I in the overflow queue in Nessie. A few times I have been behind the big "tank" and there are sound effects as though there is something in the tank, There are a few tents that have things like a telephone and someone is on the telephone trying to talk to the operator, and I think in the tent with the cot there is a radio that plays music. (anyone correct me if I'm wrong)  But it has been at least 2 or 3 years since I have had to be in that line.

My grandmother and grandfather were there when the ride opened. One time they waited in line for four hours. They were all the way down to the Rhine River floating bridge. Now talk about devotion! (Either to each other, or to the love of Busch Gardens/roller coasters.)

Opening days are always like that. Verbolten's line went all the way down to Festa and Griffon's line snaked into the animal habitat on opening day.

The overflow queue is often opened up on busy days. If you go during Howl O Scream, the line tends to back into the overflow (I even have a pic showing people entering into it around here somewhere) near the beginning of the event when the crowds peak.

Netdvn, Does this statement about long lines hold true to passmember preview day also? Or just the regular opening day?

I think Netdvn is talking about the opening day of the rides. I usually see the LNM almost walk on. Most of the big rides have big switch backs that I have not seen used. I have never been to a pass preview day so I do not know about the crowds there.
