I was there for a half day yesterday with some friends. They all ended up cancelling their passes for next year. It was a strange atmosphere in that area of the park. You could see all the thoosies acting like it was a funeral and regular park goers not knowing what was going on.

Devastating atmosphere here in the park today. Word definitely got around. Ka started on 2 cart operations, but then moved to 1 - teal.
Just got off maintenance is working hard on what appears to be a restraint sensor issue on the second train so hopefully it will be back up
I was there yesterday and they were having issues here and there but not frequently. Most of the time they had to staple the person.
Talked to people in line at the station, said they've been waiting 45 minutes. Heard someone muttering about a rollback, any confirmations on that?
It's strange half of the staff are saying it's done for good. A quarter that it's done fir the season and a quarter that they don't know.
We were trying to explain it to someone in line with no clue as to what was going on
They were working on the restraints opening and closing them repeatedly and ticketing with something right there in the station
I saw it roll back around 11:30 the line went crazy cheering
leaving now after getting 5 rides including a back row ride. Bummed that it looks like I will never get an night ride but alas I can't stay late enough tonight with a 5 to 6 hour drive ahead of me. A ride supervisor was pretty vehemently shouting down guests that were saying it's going away. I am not saying that I believe what he was saying but the stark contrast to other reports make it seem worth noting.

That whole area of the park by Green Lantern and Golden Kingdom really need a complete do over. While I am sad, I think good things are coming to this park. And for the love of GOD, please paint Nitro next year.
Can we run down what ACTUAL hard evidence there is for all this?
-Random ride-op employees saying it’s closing this weekend
-Ambiguous survey markers
-Guest services saying it’s not closing this weekend and it’s staying open until further notice

maybe I’m just in denial, but I’m still highly highly skeptical of all this. knowing lots of people who’ve worked at the park over the years, rarely if ever have random low-level employees had any insight into long term park plans, especially as big as this.
also, if GL is also supposedly being removed, has there been any indication of survey markers, removals, or anything down in that area of the park?

Driving home from park now, got my 4 last rides in. Been riding this thing my whole life and really gonna miss it. The only 2 roller coasters im actually gonna be sad to see go are this and el toro.
Seeing the markers span around Ka to Twister to GL all but confirms these rides are gone.
The staff confirmed to me that parachutes will be demolished by getting blown up (similar to how Over Texas did theirs) and Ka, Green Lantern, and Twister will all be leaving. They were told not to say anything until the park announces, but park mechanics who actually work on the ride informed them that they have the demo plans for the ride. These staff members working Ka were also enthusiasts as well with deep love for the park and told me they did really deep digging. Their supervisor also confirmed this information to me.

There are survey markers all over the queue and surrounding it in the parking lot. GL is gone for sure ma boy

How different was Ka from Dragster? Was the large hill after that game changing? I had the privledge to ride TTD in 2003 and 2006 and loved it. Now that my kids are enthusiasts was excited to take them to TT2 but knowing that's in jeopardy and now with Ka closing, sad they will never get to experience it..

Even if the rumors about Ka aren't true, I hope they get rid of Green Lantern. Rode it today and it was rough.
There's also a giant crane right next to it. All day people were laughing about how "subtle" it was.
So happy someone caught that on recording. All day i could hear thoosies chanting "rollback! rollback!" When they were getting launched. I won't lie, around 2-3pm it started struggling on that tophat pretty hard.
Regardless of if Ka is truly gone, it was a lovely excuse to get a credit and meet up with some folks with the same passion.
If tomorrow truly is the end, goodbye to the absolute king of coasters, and may there be some kingdom for you to watch over forever in coaster paradise.

Not sure I’d read into that statement too much. The whole controversy here is that they’re NOT announcing it until it’s already dead and closed, they surely wouldn’t confirm that in a random guest relations email.
If I didn’t know any better (like an average park goer), I would expect Ka to open in 2025, too. There’s just entirely too much smoke saying otherwise.

Because now I’ll always wonder if that’s really true lol
I guess at least I will get to experience some form of Top Thrill MAYBE.
