Everything broke at the bolted connections, they just had shear failure from hitting the ground. Certainly looks like it will make clean up pretty easy.
Very similar when Wicked Twisted was pulled down. Track snapped at the track connection. Just on a more massive scale.

When Red Zone took over they tried to unload it— it cost too much to build and maintain from the very start.

Redzone was ride removal and downsizing happy like Zimmerman. They didn't even want ET built but were stuck with honoring the contracts made by Premier. All new owners love to downsize to increase short term profits, at least for the books.

Red Zone saw a black hole they had to throw money into— they couldn’t find anyone to buy KK so they had to cut costs on other things that were draining the maintenance budget.

Had Six Flags Dubai been built, KK was to be sold to them and moved and replaced with a 500’ drop tower. All that fell through.

I've told this story a few times on this forum now, but I keep thinking back to it with KK's demolition. Last year I planned to go to either Hershey or GrAdv. Spent months deciding which one to go to, and ended up going to Hershey since I'd heard Zumanjaro and a few other rides hadn't been open much, and I figured GrAdv would improve under CF and I would go this year instead. Didn't have a very great time at Hershey, and regretted choosing it pretty quickly after going. Damn do I regret that decision even more now. Definitely the worst decision I've made as an enthusiast. Missed out on KK and Zumanjaro because I wasn't confident Zumanjaro would be open.

Frankly you didn't miss much at GAdv last year. Operations at GAdv in 2024 were terrible, single train operations, SBNO rides, short staffing, delayed flume and big wheel reopenings, delayed Flash opening, delayed FF, cutbacks, etc. This was all before the news of additional ride removals in Nov.

Seeing this thing come down now, really makes me hate the fact I've yet to visit this place. Not saying Kingda Ka was the main draw for me but it's destruction puts a damper of me wanting to visit sooner now. Free time has always been a factor for me as to why I've never visited. I absolutely will visit one day and would love to ride El Toro, Nitro, Medusa and others but it's not as much of a priority as it was before. I hope it's 2026 replacement will do Kingda Ka justice. I will definitely try to make it out there by then. At least I was able to ride Top Thrill Dragster before it's revamp.

Kingda Ka was an unreal experience. I loved it. I didn't get to ride TTD but I hear it was even better, so I wish I had been able to experience it. I'm sure TT2, if it opens again, is good, maybe even great, but I wish I'd been able to ride the OG too. Oh well.

Never got to ride Top Thrill and only got 5 rides in on the King. I loved those rides and cherish that memory dearly. My Coaster Count sits at 83 Ka wasn't top of that list but it was a top 5 for me. I love launch acceleration and Ka was certainly the Kimg of North America in that department. I got such a thrill of nervous excitement waiting for each launch luke I don't get in any other coasters i have ridden. Maybe it would have gone away after more rides like 305s did but I will never know now. I look forward to what the future may bring but right now my heart is heavy RIP King.

I’d been upset about it for a while, having Great Adventure in my backyard all these years and I got so used to seeing it peering over the tree line each time I went to the park. Seeing it come down today was a different level of hurt, for sure. The park will never be the same, but hopefully they honor its legacy and meaning to the park in some way, and make sure that its removal wasn’t in vain. Thanks for the memories, King of Coasters. ✌🏻🐅

Incredibly thankful for 19 years of Kingda Ka, 16 years with it an hour away from me, and the countless rides I had. Cautiously optimistic for the future.

I see a lot of news outlets now reporting that KK Was demolished to make room for two new coasters, Flash and the 2026 project. Well we know the Flash bit is a lie as they were at two different sides of the park besides once coexisting. The company just keeps putting their foot in their mouths concerning PR around KK's closing.

Just saw the aerial video for the 100th time and realized something subliminal about it, to me. It looks like the igniters fire and engines begin to start up, but instead of ascending to space it just falls over and smashes to pieces.
