Like many other issues involving the parks, there's a very serious idea lurking behind all this head silliness. The chilling effect that political correctness and fake outrage has upon free expression is one of the great threats to free society today, and this little local bit of nonsense is a microcosm of that terrible threat.
This^^ I could not have said this better myself. This scares me more than anything a theme park could conjure up. And it happens every day.

I just have to say I blame KD in large part for this if they had shown a little more spine last year this might not have been an issue.

I don't think I see how KD is to blame for this. The Miner's Revenge concern actually garnered a substantial amount of advocates for its removal, despite how foolish the whole thing was. KD didn't just waffle under the first sign of a complaint, they let the maze run for the year and simply didn't return it the next year. Cedar Fair was probably the ones who told them to remove it. Also, the maze itself didn't return this year due to ADA guidelines, not because of the mine controversy.

On the other hand, BGW removes all this after four complaints in a gazette article, which were from a different group for a different reason. The two things are hardly related.

Here is my opinion on the topic: It's dumb. It's just like Blackfish. Majority of the people that are protesting against this just want a battle to fight. Notice how nobody even said anything until this article came out. The props have been there for years. It really bugs me that people in the world feel that they need to complain about everything. BGW should get back at them by sending them tickets to Haunt.XD

To be fair, ISIL only started beheading Americans recently, so the argument that "the props have been there for years" is mostly irrelevant.

Sorry but have to disagree here Daniel Pearl was 10 years ago and the brutal treatment of the Rangers in Mogadishu was over 20 this issue could have been brought up earlier.  They been there for years we just moved to a time of fake internet fed outrage.  It's the thing to say your angry about something and demand change even if you really are not.

I specifically said ISIL. The complaints were based on recent events, not anything AQ, TTP, HQN, Taliban, etc may have done in the past. I am perfectly aware of the past and ongoing brutality in the Middle East and South Asia.

I agree that there is a level of hypocrisy, but my point is that references to last years event do not address the issue raised by these "concerned citizens."

The thing is KD stood their ground for the most part.  When first wind of controversy popped up, KD didn't shut down the maze instantly.  They said that it would not be back the next year, but I'm not sure I would consider that "caving".

heh. heh. caving.

So something really interesting is happening on the park's facebook page.  A few users have changed their profile pictures to the heads in question.
I kinda like this idea.  It seems like a few want to protest bgw decision in an interesting way. Wonder if others will join in this form of protest. As for me ya i just might.

That was a beautiful post. So eloquent. So perfect. So amazing. I loved it.

In addition to the immaculate writing, I would like to commend the author on his use of the proper acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
