Here is my opinion on the topic: It's dumb. It's just like Blackfish. Majority of the people that are protesting against this just want a battle to fight. Notice how nobody even said anything until this article came out. The props have been there for years. It really bugs me that people in the world feel that they need to complain about everything. BGW should get back at them by sending them tickets to Haunt.XD

To be fair, ISIL only started beheading Americans recently, so the argument that "the props have been there for years" is mostly irrelevant.

I don't think it is. Edit: People (not you) are arguing that something that has more or less become a tradition should be removed because these bad guys come along and do something bad. The issue becomes, "is it right to get rid of standards and traditions because of something unrelated."

^^ Yes, but remember Daniel Pearl? That was 2002...

Is there some sort of officially recognized length of time between a terrible beheading and when it's once again acceptable to have plastic heads around for Halloween?

Yes I agree but my point is the person behind the article made it seem like the props were put up this year in light of some tragic events. The person needs to understand Halloween can be gory but at the the end of the day the parks two goals are to scare you and have a fun experience over all.

Sorry but have to disagree here Daniel Pearl was 10 years ago and the brutal treatment of the Rangers in Mogadishu was over 20 this issue could have been brought up earlier. They been there for years we just moved to a time of fake internet fed outrage. It's the thing to say your angry about something and demand change even if you really are not.

“That’s not … consistent with the Halloween spirit at all,”

(from the WAVY article)

Then what is? It's not all trick or treating and free candy for kids. There's things like gory images and blatant murders, all the way up to the sexy aspect.

This is absolutely ridiculous. The heads were not realistic in any way. They weren't trying to recreate the beheadings, which of course have been happening for years. Decapitation executions have been around for centuries. I just don't understand how you can even begin to equate the two.

Like many other issues involving the parks, there's a very serious idea lurking behind all this head silliness. The chilling effect that political correctness and fake outrage has upon free expression is one of the great threats to free society today, and this little local bit of nonsense is a microcosm of that terrible threat.

Just a little quick response, but if people are complaining about the severed heads, should BGW also get rid of the pirates also since the recent outrage of the pirates kidnapping and causing a scene with boaters, and transportation barges. Sorry just a little comment, since everyone and anyone may have or see something wrong in HOS that may relate to something in the news. I say keep the heads, and go for it. Yeah its bad and not right that those journalist had to do for our country, to bring news about whats going on and then beheaded(much respect and prayers for them and their families), but does that mean everything certain people that come to HOS think something is not appropriate due to something that is going on in the news is related to terrorist or what ever bad event is going on in the world should be removed then. I say NO. People are going to have their own opinions just like mine, but I say get over it, and move on let the severed heads alone and just have fun and enjoy HOS, its a Halloween event, most Halloween events are based on horror movies, or events. I am sure these people have watched or heard about a scary event and might have seen the horrific event. Sorry for the rant, but its not like the event is based on current events like a beheading. Its pure Imagination and themeing.
