I just don’t understand testing it now when they’re no planning to open it until spring.

Assuming Vekoma brokered this deal and Vekoma is onsite to commission the ride as they would be if it were a truly new, fresh from the factory coaster, it's super easy to imagine them wanting to get it handed over to the park ASAP. It's likely a relatively slow time for them right now too vs, say, this spring when they have other coasters to commission.

Even if Vekoma isn't directly involved since this was technically a "Used - Like New" coaster purchase, whoever is doing ride programming would probably be in a similar boat—heavily incentived to get the work done this fall when most other projects in the industry aren't ready for controls programming.

Plus, for the park, it can get guests excited about next year. They can see “hey this ride may not have been ready in time for this season, but it’s testing so it should be ready for opening day next season”.

Vekoma's also extremely weird about their own rides and they'll often just call parks up and ask them if they want their controls updated or want new trains and stuff like that.

That on-train lighting is fantastic! I wish more coasters had that. But... how is it powered? Is it a battery pack they'll eventually stop charging?

I want to ride this so bad just to get a feel on these newer Vekomas. I’ve done the newer family models like Big Bear and Dragonflier, since I’ve never been overseas these new gen thrill Vekomas are new territory. I hope that Six Flags is VERY pleased with this and Sirens Curse maintenance and operationally because I deeply want to see more than just B&Ms built all over the US in the coming years.

From what I've been told Great Adventure's maintenance team has been very happy with Vekoma through the whole process of building Flash. Its delay wasn't the fault of either party but now that it's delayed Vekoma has some extra time before officially handing off the ride.

I hope it opens successfully and it leads to new projects, I was begging management to work with Vekoma almost my entire time working there.

I doubt I'll have any notable updates this month, so I'll add the October and November progress pictures together. Much more bland than the nighttime train test above! But sometimes the small details still matter.

This looks like it will be a great ride, but how do you market a year-delayed fancy boomerang that will also have one-train ops and hilarious wait times on the heels of removing Kingda Ka and Green Lantern? Do you just pretend it was there all along?

I think now that they’ve tested it and see that it works properly, they should dismantle it and ship it to Energylandia as the coaster equivalent of a bouquet of flowers for Siren’s Curse. Actually, they should keep the fancy boomerang and instead ship Kingda Ka and Green Lantern to Energylandia as the coaster equivalent of a bouquet of flowers for Siren’s Curse.

Alright, let’s go ahead and discuss the use of the term “fancy boomerang” again I think it over devalues the ride because the model is referred to as a “Vekoma Super Boomerang.” If you compare the “Super Boomerang” to the older generation model here are few key notes:

1. One of them uses lifts, the other uses launches.

2. One of them has a cobra roll and vertical loop, the other has an insane looking stall, the weird non inverting Immelmann turnaround……thing, a double up/double down and zero-G roll into a spike.

3. They are both in fact, shuttle coasters that have one train ops by design.

Based off the above information the only similarities I see are “shuttle” and “ride model name.” This leads me to see the “Vekoma Super Boomerang” as a completely different experience in every way except it having one train ops due it being a shuttle coaster.

In no way is this meant to subtract from the absolute fucking bloodbath happening to the park in the coming months but I’m just tired of thoosies shitting on this ride because it has “Vekoma” and “Boomerang” in the ride model name.

i know this is the crazy thoosie in me, but yknow what they should’ve done? Buy a second identical super boomerang, put it next to the first one, call both “Mister Freeze: The Chiller Returns” or something. Or just call the existing one that. As expensive and impractical as this is, would improve the capacity worries about the ride and would get a good nostalgia pr pop that is desperately needed. “Hey i know we are getting rid of ka but we have a new ride replacing it in 2026 AND the chiller is back!”
