Casting my obligatory two cents as the homeparker.

Good to see this happening, Grande World Expo is something they've taken a gradual renewed interest in re-establishing but has been criminally underutilized as an area brand until now. It's good to see they'll start tying rides into what right now is a very small photo op area, once they're ready to redevelop Time Warp and Kingswood's sites it'll probably eat more into Action Zone. Flight Deck retheme was always the logical first step.

The SLC is horrible and should have been torn out. They put their worst ride op crews on it, everything it touches is super ugly, the queue takes up such a needless amount of space behind Time Warp, and the past few seasons it's been mechanically problematic. But the coaster is cheap to maintain and was a more useful asset than Time Warp, so it stays. Vekoma rail re-allighments have a spotty track record for making a difference, I wouldn't expect it to track any better.

Outside of those new trains I want to see new paint on the coaster and surrounding area, CW repainted Vortex twice in five years to keep it fresh and then Super Soaker 1.0's surviving sections after it was rebuilt from the fire (can't let your riders tell what part was replaced!), so I'd be shocked if they didn't extend the same care here. The park map has been showing a dark green layout so there is hope. The coaster has retained most of the old Top Gun theming but again everything is so faded and ugly so I'd expect lots of sprucing up.

I don't know if they'll do anything about the current queue, it's nice to have trees and not some crammed concrete cattlepen but it's also extremely spread out and right up against an upcoming area redevelopment. There's switchbacks that I have never ever seen used in my years going to the park. There are buildings in the queue that the park can add AI generated posters and props to if they choose.

Overall, mildly excited, bring on the refresh, do this to The Fly next please because it also looks deplorable and doesn't fit any area anymore.

I wonder if the name fits with granite World Expo given the fact that name alone and theme fits more for a aircraft area more than a granite world expo area (maybe they had plans for half of granite world expo like a retheme?)

What?

Grande World Expo, like a world's fair, not a geology conference...

The theme fits perfectly, obviously.

sorry, I meant grande, not granite, maybe its the mendela effect that the original owners of the park decided to be funny and call the land granite world expo

I made the original eye rolled post is to questioned whatever this new daredeviler theme fits the grand world expo theme of the area given the fact that the theme fits more for a aircraft area

How does the official art for the ride, which depicts a wing-walker stunt-person standing on an airplane not fit an aircraft-themed area, even if Grande World's Expo is aircraft themed (which I'd argue is a maybe)?

Very. Much like the graphic they shared, it feels very AI-slop-coded.
Sloppy art for a sloppy coaster. If the shoe fits.

ai slop & vekoma slc, name me a better duo
AI Slop and a Zamperla Volare... oh wait.

It’s weird, like I like the concept they are going for with the roarin’ 20’s look and feel to it, but you couldn’t come up with a better name than that?

And I know this gets off topics and it touched on somewhere else you talked about it; but AI renderings from large chains really bother me. Like, they can afford some graphic designers on payroll or at least as IC workers to do stuff like this for them. I, personally, can give a pass to smaller parks who might not have the flexibility to pay out someone like to to have someone in marketing to make something like that.
I think that in this case it has to do with Six Flags' debt. Even after the Enchanted deal, they still have like half a billion of maturing debt. I don't honestly mind this as long as it's only for the announcement, because I'd rather have slop that'd be forgotten quickly than 2009 2.0

Yeah I kinda felt the same way with the images from Great Adventure for the boardwalk expansion. However the "shoreline pier" logo at least looked like it was made by a graphic designer. This whole thing looks very AI.
The fact that the track pieces are arranged rather correctly compared to SFA's AI slop art a few years back is concerning, though.

Absolutely agreed, but I wouldn't be surprised if Disney/Marvel had some sort of trademark about the word's use with an amusement ride "just in case" LOL. There's gotta be a reason that no park has ever had a ride simply called "Daredevil" with no other words (Daredevil Falls @ Dollywood) and/or odd spacing (Dare Devil Dive @ any legacy-Six park).
Yeah, I guess you're right about that. Honestly, I feel like they used AI slop for the Canadian park because the US Supreme Court said that all AI art is public domain lol.

I’ve seen enough companies in much much better shape still do the same thing. I think it’s more about cost cutting for anyone than it is about SF specific debt.
