I am so not having this conversation.

Can you actually provide empirical proof that:

1. Attendance is down; and
2. If it is down, it is for X reason?

I have yet to see those data, and I am not interested in yet another discussion of whose opinions, sources, etc are the most likely to be accurate. I am a professional analyst and there are basic tradecraft standards that are not being met.

If you follow local tourism news, Busch Gardens is not the only one with a decrease in attendance so we need to stop playing the "Busch Garden's management sucks and people are not coming because of it" game. They probably can do better, but everything isn't their fault.

This is ACTUAL research performed by REAL Marketing people:
"The two biggest reasons for not visiting the Historic Triangle are "been there, done that" at 27 percent and "not interested" at 24 percent. That, according to marketing pros, emphasizes the importance of making sure potential visitors know how things have changed here and how many diverse activities the destination has to offer.

One comforting fact in the WADMC research is that once the Historic Triangle attracts a visitors, they often come back. Of those who have visited, 83% said they were likely to come back. That's borne out in that Williamsburg visitors report a satisfaction rate well in excess of 90 percent."
Va Gazette-2014 Tourism Forum
And another article about February Tourism, while not Busch Gardens related, still says something about the local tourism situation- http://www.vagazette.com/news/va-vg-feb-smith-travel-0321-20140321,0,3983742.story

What conversation? You asked for proof, and that is what I am providing. This isn't another "opinion" conversation.

So they say, "the weather." But since Kings Dominion saw no sort of drop like BGW saw, do we really think that's 100% true?

<Joe rolls eyes>

EDIT: If people aren't visiting because they are "bored" of the area as you say, then shouldn't they be trying not to drive people away from what they know is good? I know adding new things will attract costumers, but things like pop music and lightning bugs don't motivate me to visit the park anymore.

EDIT #2: Here comes Peter Cotton Tail, hopping down the Bunny Trail, hippity-hop... I  the Bunny Trail. Go bunnies, go bunnies, go! Go bunnies, go bunnies, go! Easter rulezzz!!!

Here you go Bill!! As well as Malsdad & Sky...

Well, does anybody think the park can remove all evidence of the bunny trail in the next 3 days?

Seriously? It is still the Easter season. I did not expect them to take everything down over night either. Some people are way too happy to get rid of this stuff. It is not a big deal that the park keeps them up one or two days past Easter.

The only reason they've kept it up in the past is because Easter fell in between the two weeks that they were open daily, but as soon as that week was over it was all taken down.

I just wonder what it will take to get the "bunny tracks" up off the walking surface. I looked at them briefly Friday. They appear painted on a fairly rough surface. Probably harder to get the paint off of that surface with any ease. Probably some commercial strength Graffiti/Paint remover is used to get them off. But I am sure it is still not easy.

Whoever gets that job duty needs some extreme kudos for that one.

Just my thoughts
