Closer to Easter, the Easter Bunny is available for meet & greet/pictures, and if I remember correctly from last year, there is some sort of egg hunt (albeit small) in Bird Gardens.

Edited to add: There is very little theming/decor added though.

Edited to add: Here's the blog article from the park for 2012's event: http://www.buschgardenstampablog.com/easter-experience-busch-gardens-tampa You can see in the pictures that the grassy area has a few decorations added to it, but it doesn't extend out of that area.

Maybe I'm wrong but I could have sworn I saw the Easter Bunny there last Saturday taking pictures.

Bill I wasn't sure if you wanted no more discussion about the bunny trail at all, or just no more comparing to KD, so please delete my post if you think it's a problem.

Anyway am I the only one that feels like BG missed an opertunity to make their bunny trail Sesame Street themed? In fact I would make everything kid related Sesame Street themed, it's such a great license to have. Is Busch not allowed to use the brand outside of FoF?

Mke the bunny trail in Forest of fun, then it will spare us all of its horror! :p

(Just to say, I think the bunny trail is the most adorable thing in the world. It's so cute and conzy. UH-HEM, sorry. :))

They have parks purely themed to Seasame Street. The last thing we need is for that to bleed into BGW in a larger scale.

I don't understand why they don't move the Easter decorations into FOF, where the kids already are, and set-up one of the shops as the picture place for the Easter-bunny, that would be a lot more tolerable.

Probably to put it closer to the Easter egg hunt in the park by Germany (the name is escaping me)

2.) The GP. Sure, the general public isn't going to pick up on everything tiny thing the park does like we do. I try my best to stay out of those "I can't believe they planted a shrub there instead of a bush!" discussions (unless it's for the sake of sarcasm and/or comic relief), but the GP sure as hell is going to notice giant snails and whatnot in Bavarian Germany. Most of the GP doesn't care about how the Easter Bunny originated in Germany. What they will notice is that the classiness of the park that has kept them coming back for more is diminishing. Like I said, they're not going to blow up about any of this like we do. They're just going to forget that the park is special, and look elsewhere.

Grabbed this from the "This is Oktoberfest" thread since my response really didn't belong there. Not to pick on Joe but he had the most recent post that I saw. I keep seeing posts about how "the GP will notice this/wont notice this" which made me curious to see what the GP were ACTUALLY saying about the park. At my job, we pay a lot of attention to customer response, not just with surveys but with social media as well. Two places we constantly look at are Facebook and Tripadvisor since not only do people provide feedback about their experience, but people also use it as a recommendation when they are planning their trips.

Looking at Busch Garden's Facebook page, it is mostly people asking for advice about tickets/passes, which is to be expected during this time of year. Looking at Tripadvisor (and make sure to search by date so you can see the most recent posts), I see mostly positive things about how beautiful the park is and how they enjoy the theming (and some people even comment that this isn't their first time at the park).

We keep insisting that people will find the Bunny Trail cheesy and out of place, but I saw NOTHING about it (positive or negative) in customer responses. Provided, there is not a lot of feedback so far this year and the season is still early, but I think we should keep our eye on ACTUAL guest responses before making large judgements about what people want.

And who knows, in two months we may see TONS of posts about how the Bunny Trail was tacky and Busch Gardens is not like it used to be, but at least we will have solid proof as to what the GP wants.

Fun project for anyone who a lot of time on their hands (and who care about this WAY more than I do), take the 100 most recent comments (or comments since opening day) about Busch Gardens on the Trip Advisor page and do a tally for each key word.

For instance:
Verbolten-7
Land of Dragons-1
Beautiful Scenery-2
Pass Member-3
Customer Service Bad-1
Customer Service Good- 3
Visited in the past-2
First Time-6
'Has gone downhill'-3
'Will visit again'-5
Etc.

Obviously this is very subjective but it gives a quantitative approach as to the GP's thoughts AFTER they left the park.

I understand where you are coming from, MCMM, but that wasn't quite my intention. I agree that there are posts bringing up what you mentioned, but my post was meant to make the point clear that the GP aren't "super fans" like us. As many people such as Matt Conkle, Cody, and Party Rocker Blaze Star have brought up, BGW shouldn't carter solely to this "super fans" market. This isn't an attack on them at all, because in a sense they are right. This means the GP isn't going to notice the little details like we do, (i.e. a different shade of green paint in Killarney), but there are plenty of things that could turn them off.

As I said, not everyone is going to complain about, mention, or even notice exactly what is different. But as the great drop in attendance shows, people have decided to look elsewhere for entertainment. And with another park right around the corner trying to nab these newly available patrons as their own, things are just going to get bleaker for BGW economically.

No worries, Joe, I definitely think your post was a fair point, I just used it as a segue to something that I think the forum should consider.

Maybe someone *from the forums* with some extra time can stop guests at the Bunny Trail and ask them what they think.

actually applying some measurable data to the debate

How about the drastic decrease in attendance? People aren't just going to stop going to the park for no reason.
