They should go ahead and pack the ride up on truck and sell it off to 6 flags where it belongs.
The color definently fits six flags. :-[
The sad thing is, Tempesto's would be a smash hit for SFA.

Now that i think about it a little more it would really do much better there thank for bringing that up! I wouldnt have thought about it lol

There's even a place for it. Where Two-Face used to be.

Edit: nevermind, a quick Google maps looksie shows A Wild Mouse coaster where Two-Face used to be.

The straps on the other coasters are purely measuring devices.  If the strap does not connect the rider is too large.  They do not server any other safety function.

I'm a bit late to the party here on the restraint systems, but if the shoulder harness for whatever reason malfunctions on Aplengeist or Griffon, I feel like the strap would at least add a little protection from having it completely release above the rider's head. Is that not a reason for their existence? And you can't actually release these yourself during the ride (on track), only when back at the station. I noticed this on both Alpengeist and Griffon. On Tempesto, I had a hard time with the push button release on the shoulder harness after getting back to the station. It just never wanted to release. The "comfort collar" also pinched my wife's ear twice on 3 rides because she's shorter and the upper portion was at her ears. During the rolls her head and ears would hit them.

That may be a unintended secondary benefit but it is certainly not how they were designed. In fact on may rides they were added after the fact. The harness is designed to never open without being at the station or within certain other parameters. Consider that AC does not have any such system.

Yes, these are the most poorly named items in the park. But then, what else do we expect from this half designed-clone-forceless-flat ride?

The seat belt button has a habit of getting stuck. It has nothing to do with the safety system on the ride. The other versions of this ride and other Premier launchers (including Flight of Fear and Joker's Jinx) operate normally without the vests.

I really don't see why even rides like AC can't have a belt that would hold the seat restraint in place that attaches to the car/seat. I understand it's just another step to check and hinders load and unload, but I think a secondary restraint shouldn't be a problem on any coaster. That said, I rode AC 7x this past weekend. And Tempesto 3x without issues really. I missed in the thread where they had changed the Tempesto harness lock.

The seat belts aren't designed as a secondary restraint. This goes for pretty much any steel coaster. Most coasters employ them as measurement devices and nothing more.

On modern roller coasters it is pretty much impossible for the restraints to unlock outside of the station. I've never heard of any incidents on a modern coaster involving the restraints releasing on the course. Ever.

So seat belts (or "comfort collars") do not really add anything in the name of safety. On rides like Apollo's Chariot, all seat belts would do is increase the landing time.

I will not take up much time with this here as it is the wrong thread and I have discussed it before.
1. I was in the car with my old friend Josh. It was his harness that popped up.
2. We were, as was our habit in the back seat, so no one else saw it.
3. We were able to get the restraint back down and it locked
4. We reported it to the station and if I recall correctly they shut down briefly
5. We were in 7th grade. It would never have occurred to us to tell anyone else except in the "you won't believe what happened.." kind of way. We certainly did not tell my mom, we wanted to stay at the park. That is the kind of thing that get you taken home.
6. It really did not seem like a big deal at the time.
7. Yes I know interlocks are supposed to stop that kind of thing, but shit happens.

I was coming into the station (1/4 the way into the station) on Loch Ness Monster one time and the harness prematurely released. The passenger in my car was shocked. I too was startled…but then I returned to my usual state of indifference towards this legendary yet lackluster ride.

I didn't mean to start a restraint comment section. Being that I just started riding coasters last year, I like feeling secure on them. OTSRs seem to put me more at ease. Lap only a little more nervous, unless it's like a Disney coaster.
