so with the new SP stuff, has there been any buzz over superman getting rethemed/renamed? it seems just that much more out of place in boardwalk now that they're really leaning into the new area stuff.

I keep going back and forth on if they really will retheme it. On one hand, it is sorely out of place in that specific spot now with a tightly, well done Boardwalk land opening around it. On the other, they just paid to repaint the thing only a couple years ago, and I don't know if there is another theme that is going to be as big a draw as "flying like Superman" with the general public. Park could shell out a few million on new paint, theming, and upkeep only for the ride to be less popular than in the current red & blue.

If I was running the park, it'd already be annouced to reopen as 'Kite Flyers' or something with beachy landscaping put in the coaster's infield.

If they wanted to retheme it without repainting, they could lean into an Americana theme with the red and blue paint job, perhaps calling it something like "The Great American Seaside Flyer".

And then they could retheme the queue and the station, which would probably be cheaper than repainting the whole ride. Maybe they could place sand, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc, under the tracks, play some Beach Boys music, and cover the station with thatch to make it resemble a beach cabana.

My blue sky wish is they'd fill in some of the empty space beyond the pier and superman with

My blue sky wish is that they'd fill some of the area left over from Green Lantern's footprint around Ultimate Flight and behind Shoreline Pier, and depending on final theming, even around Project Purple with water to complete the "shoreline" look.

Definitely, adding some water would be a great touch!
I know I'd suggested the name "Great American Seaside Flyer," but at the moment, it would be more appropriate to call it "Great American Parking Lot Flyer" ;)
Either way, I admit it's not a great name, but I was just trying to think of something that tied into the red and blue paint scheme they've got going on, and using "Great American" also ties it to the park's history.

Honestly, they could just call the entire boardwalk area as a whole the "Great American Boardwalk" and that would be perfect.

Edit: This is assuming for the fact that since it's been advertised as "Shoreline Pier at the Boardwalk", Shoreline Pier is considered a sub-area and not replacing the Boardwalk as a whole.

I think I’d take that over Superman being rethemed to GASM. I am all for a successor (who would’ve guessed lol), but retheming a ride that sat next to GASM for its final 7 years to it just seems a bit odd.

Bring on the Great American Tilt Machine. Funny enough, I made my own PC2 version of it as a front gate coaster the night before Coliwood uploaded his, although far less realistic in scale lol.
