Brandon Davis, who covers movies, comic books, etc. on social media met with DC and shared some updates including the fact that DC is actively talking about Six Flags, “maybe about Superman, or other projects in the future”. Not sure if this means this ride/the park would get updated IP as a result, or if this is more of a promotional idea for the movie. Link to view is here (around 2:30):

Fully agreed. I don’t particularly care if they want to keep Metropolis/DC kiddie sections around (if for no other reason than that I know they ain’t gonna bother retheming the Justice League rides), but slapping like a Joker theme on a ride in an otherwise non DC themed area is pretty tacky.

Great Adventure especially is in a unique situation where they only have 3 rides left outside of the Metropolis area that aren’t DC themed, those being Superman, Joker, and Harley Quinn. Not sure if Batman and Dark Knight’s area is still considered Movietown, but they’re close enough to Metropolis regardless whereas the other 3 are super disconnected, especially Superman.

Don't forget about Medusa.

Medusa’s been rethemed back from Bizarro, but yeah, it definitely did apply. Still an odd theme for a wild west section, but I’m more willing to ignore it because it isn’t a licensed IP being thrown in your face in the middle of an otherwise normal area.

Even as Bizarro, I think it ALMOST got a pass because of that specific theme.

I would be ecstatic if Superman got renamed with something unique that fit the Boardwalk area better. Harley Quinn should go back to Blackbeards Lost Treasure Train and Joker gets renamed something unique as well. Tired of the random DC stuff scattered throughout the park, it feels cheap.

I agree who heartedly with this. I'm very interested in what the team has up their sleeves for the boardwalk. I feel like Great Adventure could be compared to a launch coaster right now and we are just waiting on the large straight away. There's so much potential energy building up and then... GO!

Same, I also have a lot of optimism for the future of this park. With Cedar Fair management now in charge, I have hope they will focus more on unique names and themes vs. leaning on the DC stuff like the old Six Flags management did. I am not opposed to DC themed rides, I would just prefer they are contained to one area of the park.

I can definitely see Movietown getting an overhaul to DC Universe eventually. Boardwalk is also ripe for an overhaul with some additional flat rides and hopefully a Superman retheme (this ride is popular and low maintenance so I imagine it says for a bit). And finally, what will happen to the old Golden Kingdom... I imagine we will see that next year with the new launch coaster.

What if Superman and the Boardwalk get a whole refresh. Keep the Boardwalk theme—but refresh it all. Revitalize the area, retheme Superman, and add a few flats back to the left and right of Superman. Superman becomes something like Shoreline Rush with a beachy kind of theme. And then they could get a surf coaster to have with a nice surfing theme. Boom, 2 coasters, and a few flats to boot—maybe a new drop tower that will actually be able to, you know, operate, and a zamperla flat package?

It would be like an upscale version of seaside heights. I love the feel of boardwalks.

Golden Kingdom has always been the biggest area of wasted potential in the park and I’m excited to see what they do with it. One coaster, a drop tower, a kiddie area that lasted 5 years, and occasional tiger shows aren’t enough to justify an area that’s so disconnected from the entire rest of the park. I hope its revitalization includes making it more connected to the Boardwalk area.

They should rip out all the ugly rides and let nature reclaim the Boardwalk and Golden Kingdom. In GK"s case nature had already begun to reclaim it with poison ivy.

Sorry for the double post but I saw this posted on themeparkreview.

That's a pretty radical move...

Maybe the queue is going to be basically non-existent this year due to construction or something...? Maybe it's going to be running at super low capacity due to some maintenance/renovation/construction reason...?

Very weird for sure.

Paint it white and call it: WILD SEAGULL! No Boardwalk fries are safe, coming 2026!

I kinda figured there wouldn’t be a traditional way to get to it, but I also assumed it would just have a temporary reroute to the queue. Didn’t even consider it would be virtual queue/reservations, I’m guessing this means Slingshot and Great American Road Race are gonna be SBNO this year.

Slingshot and Great American Road Race are both operating today. The boardwalk route remained exactly as it was... There's just nothing at the end except for Superman.
