Not really my cup of tea but it is twice as loud as the normal music and the loop is not that long for being park wide(maybe an hour). Its like hearing your least favorite hamlet music loudly parkwide.

It not being your jam is fine, but I would like to point out that for F&W the music was extremely loud in places. Particularly the Brazil booth, and nobody really said much about it if anything at all.

And none of the music loops are actually all that long. I know during hos in Oktoberfest that music loops like every 45 minutes. I just don't think you notice the other music loops because it just becomes background noise.

Agree. BC needs classical music at least up until 5 ish. It sets the theme/mood for the entire park. On the way out classic British rock would be alright with me (bettles, herman's hermits even Zeplin or Elton John). I love our house by madness, and 80s music in general, but i don't see where it adds to the park theme at all.

I agree for the most part but I will say that even after being a Madness fan for years, that it now makes me think of BG. I don't mind if that song stays.

I'm curious, before I give anymore thought to it, why do so many people hate the pop music? Is it just because it's not your cup of tea? Or is it something else?

I actually like the pop songs themselves and listen to them outside the park on my own, but for me this is the problem in itself. It ruins the immersion and escapism of the park by transporting me back to real life. When I go to Busch Gardens, I want something different from the same stuff I hear playing at Walmart or on Sirius XM Hits 1.

In my opinion, pop music is a lazy excuse for creating an “energetic nighttime atmosphere” because the music is so common and so tied to normal, everyday life. I have never once heard that style of music playing at the park and felt it raised the energy level of the place; rather it seemed like an awkward juxtaposition. I remember thinking as I walked through Heatherdowns how OneRepublic playing on the speaker only made the village seem more ordinary. The escapism is gone.

I still believe the music can change at night to energize the Summer Nights event, but it should be something different from what guests hear all the time in their daily lives. Even Europop at least provides a different experience from hearing Cheerleader for the thousandth time.

I say this not as a crazed theming stickler (because my primary issue isn’t necessarily that the music “detracts from the theme”), but just as someone who wants something different from what I hear at my local mall when I drive an hour and a half to visit Busch Gardens.

But considering it's only playing during a few hours of the night for a specific event, is it really ruining anything? I realize this is subjective, but it's also one of those things that we on the forum are not their main target. Just doing some people watching during these hours you can see, while it doesn't raise /your/ energy, you can watch other regular people having a good time with the music.

Again, I don't particularly remember the music during summer nights the one night I've gone, but I did watch the DJ for a short time before the gates to Spark opened. Granted this is a limited area, but you could see that people were visibly having a good time. Of course the big thing was little kids were dancing, but there were teens and adults also having a good time with the DJ.

I feel that the high energy they want, is along the lines of stuff you can dance to, but also sing along with. Picking Europop would just blend it in to the regular music. It wouldn't create the same environment. It would be nearly unrecognizable. (Unless all of it was in English, and from the UK, because otherwise Americans have never heard of it unless it came from a viral video)

I would also like to point out the Summer Nights theme has zero things to do with Europe as a whole. They are promoting a high energy night time vibe with bright colors and fun music that people enjoy. You just get the added bonus of your at a park with roller coasters. And I'm willing to bet money that's what the park is aiming for.

Additionally, not everything that would match the theme of the park is a good idea, less we forget Illuminights.

Something I thought about last night. Does anyone else find it odd that a giant theme park is not enough? Like, there are countless things to do, and they still have to have some sort of edge to attract audiences.

BG should make their new summer event tagline - "We have a bunch of rides, what the fuck else do you want?"

Also, I have never gone to BG or KD during the summer because of a concert or a light show. Does anyone actually do that? Maybe I am the minority.

Summer Nights and it's pop music is still miles ahead of freaking Illuminights IMO. At the very least, it's for the event only and that's perfectly fine with me.

I have to respectfully disagree. I loved Illuminights. Well, the first season, after that it started to de-evolve. I really felt that music of Illuminights really added to the environment. I have the soundtrack and regularly listen to it. I feel that music can make or break the theme to the point of completely ruining it. I found that to be the case with Pandora in the Animal Kingdom. The music was absolutely awful. Its so bad that I didn't want to spend any amount of time there and we immediately left after our fastpass/ride.

While the pop music at BG is temporary and thankfully only played in the evening, I would like to see some variety of genres and a longer loop. There are just too few songs. I don't listen to much modern pop, I'm more of a classic rock guy, but I can appreciate some current songs.

Not sure about CT but the HOS soundtrack the past two years hasn't been all that great either. Especially the moderns stuff. No Cry Little Sister either.

The first time I went to Summer Nights, I was very upset when I thought that the park was playing the same soundtrack in every area. The park does, however, play Europop themed to their respective countries in Germany, Italy and Ireland/Scotland. France and New France both share the same American pop soundtrack to go with Spark.

I personally love how the park has the music set up for Summer Nights. I am not a huge pop fan, but at least I can go to another area if I don’t like the genre. The playlists themselves are also a decent length, at an average of 40 minutes.

Yes. I've gone to the park a few times because they were having a band in concert that I wanted to see. Granted I would get there early and enjoy the park during the day until it was time to go to see the concert. I didn't go and get there just early enough to get in and see the concert and leave. I do miss the days when they had the band there for both Saturday and Sunday and you could choose which day you wanted to go.
