Mean Streak is now officially closed, and even though I didn't really love the ride, it is sad to see this giant beautiful but painful coaster leave.(unless they RMC it of course :p)

The video dropped the RMC initials in the last rites ceremony I watched on Facebook. The guy doing the announcements name initials were RMC. Now the only question is if they will also be helping out a certain other coaster located in VA or if we will be the red headed step child once again to the flagship parks. 99.9% certainty it's getting RMC'd.

RE: Project 2018: RMC Mean Streak?!

Unlike KD's "There's Really More Coming!" tagline, Cedar Point seemed to be dropping deliberate hints in the "funeral" ceremony they held at Mean Streak's closing. The first speaker's name was Richard Michael Crosby (RMC), which seems too perfect to be a coincidence, and the actor's emphasis on speaking his name seemed to intentionally draw attention to the initials.

Cedar Point loves misdirection with their guests, and it's entirely possible they purposely made the character's initials RMC but have no plans to ever work with Rocky Mountain Coasters. But it's exciting nonetheless.

I suppose your right Joe. I just get really annoyed when RMC gets brought up in every single park rumor nowadays. If it isn't RMC than it isn't anything. That's how I feel people think. It's really blowing a hole in the coaster community for me like, can we have a talk about rollercoasters without mentioning RMC? Having an RMC at your park is very exciting, I just get aggravated when it's the only thing being brought up in rumors. Ill stay away from any RMC related thread for now so my anxiety can cool down. Yall have a blessed day ;)

It's constantly brought up because out of all the coasters RMC has created or redone, not a single one has yet to be installed at any Cedar Fair park, and this chain has quite a few that could use their services. Since they redid the Texas Giant, they've been the one company at the forefront of creating exciting new coasters.  That's why they're constantly brought up.

People are gonna talk about RMC so just ignore it if you can handle the discussion of rumors about any new coasters they are doing.  There is absolutely no need to get bent out of shape.

RE: Project 2018: RMC Mean Streak?!

So I just saw that CP Rundown on Facebook has posted this picture of the first RMC vehicle on site.  Kind of hard to miss with the their phone number plastered on the side of the boom.

RE: Project 2018: RMC Mean Streak?!

It seems odd that Cedar Point would already have RMC at the park, since they haven't announced anything about Mean Streak except that it's closing. I figured that if RMC did work at Cedar Point, it would be in 2018. Could it really be 2017? Pretty much every RMC project so far has taken place in a single off-season. If so, then why hasn't the park made an announcement yet?

It sounds like this is the largest conversion to date (if they are indeed RMCing it) and estimates would be in the 18 month range. So I think that would make it for 2018. But there's a ton of new daylight pics of the RMC cranes around the structure on CP Rundown, so it definitely looks like it's a go.
