I believe the justification that Seaworld is using is that guests are using those specific type of walkers as wheelchairs, when they are not meant to be used for that purpose. Which, would create a safety hazard if one weren’t careful. Doesn’t make it any less stupid of a rule, but that’s just what I am guessing.

Per the statement, it looks like free alternatives are given to the guests at the park, which is better but still not a good look.
Looks like they saved their butts from hefty fines and possible lawsuits

Or - and I saw this a bunch the last two days I was out - they have one or two kids sit on it as a stroller like substitute. Last year at Disney I saw a grandparent doing that and the kid fell off and cracked their head pretty good. Looked like they needed stitches.

At thanksgiving I brought it up because some family members are in healthcare and they said doctors (they work with) don’t really like those kind because people very rarely just use it as intended and get themselves really hurt. With most of them when you sit on it and try to move the turning wheels are now behind you which is much more challenging to steer. Additionally the wheels aren’t meant to take moving with full body weight on them so uneven pavement can cause you to fall because the “edge” is too big for the wheel. The one nurse was telling me of a patient in critical care because they were trying to move around a septa station like that, caught an uneven pavement, and got severely injured (proven nose, orbital bone, 10+ stitches, and a concussion). Even the manufacturer backed SEPTA for the lawsuit because they were using it improperly.

After hearing all of that I’m more in favor of a ban like this - as long as a park puts in more benches for people to rest at.

These were taken moments apart, the poor bartenders had no clue what the difference was (aside from the passmember discount). Luckily the they honored the lower pricing on everything our group ordered.
I went with my father last month while I was in Orlando. We noticed the same price difference (although it was $21 and change? I wanna say for the cheaper one) and asked the bartender about it - she said it had something to do in regards to the “across the board surcharge” SeaWorld implemented - I believe the same one they’re getting sued for

It could seriously be an unbelievable park. I already really like a lot about it. But to be so lazy and leave something like this on there for months - at a very popular happy hour bar in the park - is so f’n dumb and lazy. Sometimes I wonder how these parks have certain people in charge.

Seaworld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa were incredible parks, and still have great bones, but they need so much love and care. It's insane how the flagship parks have fallen.
I don’t know what either of them were like in their “prime”. The coasters at both are unreal. For transparency I’ve been to BGW/BGT/SO, SFGAdv/SFA/SFNE/SFOT, Kings Dominion, and all Disney Orlando parks and both Disney Cali parks. SeaWorld Orlando has the worst operations I’ve ever seen at a park. Such a nice park but both that park and BGT need some small fixes to just get it to a top tier park

Not an issue with the park necessarily, but I wanted it mention it on the forums. Slowpoke, the park’s old Walrus, has died at age 49. I met her once on a tour and she was very sweet (and gave me kissies). She also help contribute to the sounds of the T-Rex in Jurassic Park. She helped people learn and care about animals so this is very sad to hear.

She actually contributed to multiple dinosaurs in the film, she will be deeply missed :(

A sign or something at the ride entrance would be nice to let guests know the ride will not be availible.

I would totally be happy to do the following as a contracting gig.

Also, is it too much to ask that if the park opens at 9AM, but none of the rides open until 10AM, that this is noted on the park schedule?
