If I understand correctly, yes, SF is saying those parks are losing money, and they don't see that changing any time soon.I'm sorry, could someone please explain that to me? Not sure I'm understanding what that's saying. Are they saying that those parks lost a lot of money? Are they closing them?
From the annual report:
"During the year ended December 31, 2023, we determined that the carrying value of our leased theme park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Frontier City ("Frontier City") and our leased water park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City ("HHOKC") were not recoverable following multiple years of negative cash flows, as well as projected future cash flows that indicated the respective assets were not recoverable. Based on the analysis performed, we determined that the carrying value of Frontier City and HHOKC exceeded their fair value, resulting in a pre-tax, non-cash loss on impairment of $16.0 million and $7.0 million, respectively. The loss on impairment at Frontier City was allocated proportionally, in the amount of $8.8 million and $7.1 million, to Right-of-use operating leases, net and Property and equipment, net, respectively. The loss on impairment at HHOKC was allocated proportionally, in the amount of $4.3 million and $2.7 million, to Right-of-use operating leases, net and Property and equipment, net, respectively.
During the year ended January 1, 2023, we determined that our leased theme park in Houston, Texas, Hurricane Harbor Splashtown ("Splashtown") was not recoverable following multiple years of negative cash flows, as well as projected future cash flows that indicated the respective assets were not recoverable. Based on the analysis, we determined that the carrying value of Frontier City[sic] exceeded its fair value, resulting in a pre-tax, non-cash loss on impairment of $16.9 million. The loss on impairment was allocated proportionally, in the amount of $15.1 million and $1.8 million, to Right-of-use operating leases, net and Property and equipment, net, respectively."

I am guessing these are pre-merger stats, but the Mayor of Gurnee made the following comments about Six Flags Great America during the State of the Village address last night.
"In Six Flags around the country they are number one in average attendance. Now they are careful to say that they are not number one in total attendance because they are not open year round, but for the days in which they are open they have the highest attendance.
They also have the best record in terms of profitability in the entire Six Flags chain."

The big issue looks to be the combined company debt. It's eating up their income and could be indicative of a potential debt spiral.I think it's important to remember that it takes huge spending on both companies premerger to work through the regulatory process to complete a merger we don't know how much of the reported loss came from one time spending related to that. Before we start screaming the sky is falling maybe give them a year as a mergered company and see where the results are.
I don’t think you understand how corporate debt works. The big issue looks to be the combined company debt. It's eating up their income and could be indicative of a potential debt spiral.
Interest payments are eating through their operating income and it got much worse post merger. That's not sustainable long term and they can't simply reissue their debt at better rates. Either revenue needs to increase greatly, which it's hard to see that happening, or they have to cut costs and sell off assets.I don’t think you understand how corporate debt works.

A lot of dull figures and stuff but it should give a nice snapshot of the company's current state and plans to address issues without being to specific. If they address Great Adventure at all it's almost certainly going to be a vague statement like do to several factors were have decided our previously planned 2026 attraction back to a later date.I wonder what's in the financial call?, what going to happen with great adventure?
Nope they are still stet to begin accepting closed bids on the property starting August 1st. Do to all sorts of confidentiality agreements i don't expect that we will hear any more news or leaks on that front till after the park closes and more then likely not until we'll into 2026.maybe six flags changed their minds about six flags america and they gonna sell it
Six Flags earnings calls are my SuperbowlsShould be an interesting earnings call.
