RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

I know I requested this in the "Company News" thread, but I want a thread designated for an additional park rumored to join the SWP&E chain.

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

A WaterWorks sub-forum has been discussed and we have concluded that WaterWorks is connected to Kings Dominion. Unlike Water Country USA and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Therefore, all discussion for WaterWorks can be made in the Kings Dominion section of the forums.

WaterWorks topics can be made in any of the Kings Dominion sub-forums as it is apart of the park.

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

I'm sorry, I wasn't very clear about that. I was under the impression that a category titled "WaterWorks" would become part of KD's boards, such as the "Attractions" or "Eateries" categories, for discussions/threads about the water park, still withing KD's boards. Of course, I guess the easy fix would be to just make a WaterWorks thread in the "Attractions" category... :)

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

WaterWorks, as of right now, is considered one of the parks areas such as "Candy Apple Grove" or "Planet Snoopy."

At a later time, there should be a filter box that can be seen on the BGWFans attractions board that will hopefully migrate to KDFans and BGTFan boards. This will help filter out everything. I currently have all of the current slides for WaterWorks in the attractions board. You can tell which attraction belongs to which area by their respective flags.

Thanks! I guess calling it an "area" makes sense.

This will stay a thread in the news board until SeaWorld Entertainment actually announces a new park. There is no reason to create a board for a park that does not yet or may not ever exist. What ever discussion there is about that possible future park can't really be expanded upon outside of that thread until SEAS releases more information.

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

Quick list of minor updates.
  • KDFans has a new favicon in honor of its 40th anniversary. Thanks Alpenghost!
  • Minor CSS bugs have been corrected on both KDFans and BGTFans. They were brought on by a backend change that was made a few days ago and I just now noticed something was up.
  • We're doing some testing on ways to distinguish one park's threads from another. Anything you happen to see is a work in progress. Just ignore it. Update: See here. Yay for rapid evolution!

Well, I wouldn't say ignore it. Just know it's not intended to be permanent. In the meantime, forum users should feel free to use it as a way to help distinguish the three parks we cover.

For those wondering, if you use the "View Unread Posts" option, in addition to area flags, you may now see the KD, BGW, or BGT designation in front of some of the threads to help you better distinguish what park the thread is about.

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

Implemented a solution for marking park-specific threads I'm fairly happy with right now. Thoughts? See anything that seems wrong? Let me know. I think it has a long way yet to evolve but it's a start.

PS: Thank Shane for getting the ball rolling. I had been brainstorming about how to do it for a few days now but Shane nudged things along.

And now version 2.0

3.0 before the night is up maybe? We'll see

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

Terrible... Tell me, Zachary. Are you trying to have the site's quality mirror that of BGW?

Not sure what's going on but I can't see the page numbers anymore under the thread name when on the main page.

On the "Unread Posts", "Today's Posts", and "Recent Posts" pages?

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

Locked threads now have a little lock icon to denote that they are, in fact, locked. If you see folders or something else to the right of thread titles, clear your cache or wait for it to clear on its own. They aren't actually there.

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

Uhm Zach, I keep seeing more and more folders pop up everywhere, even after I close my browser and reopen the browser. I think they are very much there?

RE: The ParkFans Network: Site Updates & Changes

My folders went away when I refreshed.

Hold ctrl and hit the refresh button if you're in Chrome to load the resources directly from the server and dump the cache. I think holding shift will do it Firefox. If you still see them, let us know please.
