That’s what I was thinking. They gotta have someone at least looking into what kind of aquatic features to add to like the queue or the ride itself
I feel like it would be a mistake to not have some kind of reef-like structures (see: Tidal Surge at SWSA) going up the tilt supports. Would add a neat visual to the supports. Sirens are known for being underwater and around reefs and such. So reason that couldn’t be done.

What if they theme it around a Siren Head. They probably won't though.

I think my ideal scenic package would consist of a harbor-themed queue and station, onboard audio up the lift about sailing out of the harbor, audio communicating the obviously-required siren sighting at the top of the lift followed by a fade-in of the siren's song as the train enters the tilt track, the full-blown siren's song luring the sailors to the depths as the track tilts, and then the sound of the plunge into the ocean mid-drop. Ideally, the train would dive through a shipwreck at the base of the first drop as well to visually signal reaching the ocean floor. This placement would also be perfect as the queue passes directly next to this area. Do some ocean/seaweed/coral-inspired landscaping, a little rockwork around the trench, and suddenly this thing looks brilliant, in my opinion.

Cedar Point has never been about theming, but this seems like a roughly appropriate amount of thematic investment for a major coaster at one of the chain's amusement parks right now (see: Iron Menace).

Looks to be 100% a water ride.

Not going to sugarcoat it, this is bullshit.

And no I'm not talking about the 100% a water ride "affirmation", I'm talking about the website's dates being a little messed up. That stuff had to do with TT2 and other projects. In reality, these are the latest permits filed by Cedar Point;

These had to do with some food building upgrades, the top was for a VIP tent.

Which basically means that in terms of Siren's Curse (almost called it Siren's Fury just now, lol)... we are still at square zero.

Once they start tacking this coaster, there's going to be a lot that will happen. Perimeter Road reroute will be a BIG project and one that they would have preferred to do this past offseason if the tilt wasn't signed off literally a couple weeks ago. Not until the offseason starts and that happens can they begin work on the coaster. Until then, nothing has begun.

😉

Just have to say WTF. Placing a tilt coaster right next to a dive coaster is an odd choice but it’ll be cool.
The big difference is the remaining layout. Valravn is one of the best dive layouts in the world but albeit a crowd pleaser, it's still a one-trick pony like the rest of the dives are. A proper layout post-tilt means re-rideability and the released info looks like a lot of modern Intamin-esque rolls and a stall. I'm optimistic.

Some of you need to calm the fuck down. Until we actually know more. The press release says TT2 is reopening in 2025. So that’s what I am assuming here
They also told us on day 1 of the closure that it was "weather" so I believe CP about as much as I did when they called Pipe Scream a coaster.

It's especially bad because Zamperla played this hand twice in 2024 and they seem to have done a perfectly fine job with ThunderVolt. If they had just stuck to the project they were capable of, 2024 would have been a huge win for Zamperla—possibly allowing them to launch themselves into the problematic Intamin renovation market. Instead, they got greedy and wanted their name on one of the most infamous coasters in the world Now they're paying the price.
Remember when I was adamant about it being Intamin during the OSINT phase of TT2 digging? I just couldn't believe Zamperla would make the jump or that CP would even let them.

Reef in a freshwater lake? Nah.
Rocky jetty, dock planks, fishing nets, etc.? Yup
Maybe even a nod to some of the uniquely large Great Lakes freighters? Yes please.

I bet the merch for this ride will look awesome. I can just imagine little keychains and t-shirts with a grotesque mermaid slapped on it.

You know those bird toys that "drink" from water glasses? Imagine that, but with the piece tilting track with the train on it.

This is unironically the best concept I've seen all day. I really hope cedar point gets creative with this merch

I'm quite late but I suppose I'll throw my hat in the ring - I'm thrilled about this. I think, while it's not my first choice for Cedar Point, it's a solid fit with a lot of fun potential for theming. The layout looks nuts and I would imagine parkgoers would compare it to Maverick.
However, I may be even more thrilled about the implications this could have for the chain as a whole. If I may put my clown hat on... this isn't the only coaster Vekoma designed for Energylandia that ended up not happening - they designed a traditional Hyper for them back in 2017, along with Intamin, and held some sort of vote that Intamin won. Might we see that end up somewhere in the chain? Could we see them run with the Tilt the way they did with the Dive Machine and scale it way the heck up? Who knows, but I'm seated for all the possibilites.

I'd love to see a Vekoma hyper anywhere, but Energylandia didn't "cancel" one. You said it yourself, it was put up to a poll and Intamin won. That project became Hyperion. There is no Vekoma hyper coaster out in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be bought. As I understand it, the tilt coaster was already in the middle of fabrication when Energylandia cancelled, if not fully fabricated and ready to go. Totally different situations.

Of course, I do hope Siren goes well and convinces more parks to consider Vekoma for thrill coasters. And maybe Vekoma could get some manufacturing here in the US somewhere to compete with B&M.

Good point - poor wording on my part. I'll go ahead and edit that.
I'm not sure they'd need to get manufacturing in the US? Maybe they would, but when they were throwing SLCs and Boomerangs everywhere they didn't seem to have any issues.

The main issue at this point is mostly vekoma’s parent company—Sansei. Who, I might add, is also the parent company of S&S. Sansei has been directing a lot of vekoma projects overseas and trying to push S&S sales in the US, but given the recent… problems… with S&S, they may not be able to do that as much. Pretty much the main difference is that with S&S it’s produced here in the US, so cheaper shipping costs since it’s domestic, whereas Vekoma is producing out in the Netherlands, so shipping is much more expensive. And it’s obvious they’re not impossible to get through—several parks opened new Vekomas in the last few years, a park just may need a little more money to get one.

Interesting that they are rerouting Iron Dragon’s queue, and sounds like they are giving it a Fast Lane queue as well.

I've never seen iron dragon at a particularly high wait time though. I'm not complaining though! It's one of the few rides my family can do over and over.
