Now I gotta wonder if the Snake River Falls plot might be another coaster. Cause this is Coaster #19 for CP. So their next one would be the golden #20.
I guess snake river falls could still be a new water ride (maybe a mack power splash)

I have industry contacts where I get my info from. Confidence is low which is why they made a last minute decision to move this coaster from Mexico to Sandusky.
If Zamperla fails to deliver for 2025, what do you think the fate of TT2 could be?

Yeah, as much as the TT2 situation sucks for CP, it really sucks for Zamperla. I’m sure they hoped this would be their big break to establish them as a legitimate coaster manufacturer in league with the big guys. Now I think they’ll be lucky if any park commissions them to build anything more than kiddie rides.

Lesson learned: risk-taking is important in business, but never bite off more than you can chew. Zamperla’s mistake was staking their reputation on not just an insanely risky project, but one of the most anticipated and visible projects in the industry. Every potential customer has watched them fail to deliver, in spectacular proportions.

It's especially bad because Zamperla played this hand twice in 2024 and they seem to have done a perfectly fine job with ThunderVolt. If they had just stuck to the project they were capable of, 2024 would have been a huge win for Zamperla—possibly allowing them to launch themselves into the problematic Intamin renovation market. Instead, they got greedy and wanted their name on one of the most infamous coasters in the world Now they're paying the price.

I think that Cedar Point shouldn't have trusted Zamperla with their new lighting cars. They probably would've been better off going with Intamin.

Why would CP pay a manufacturer to fix the ride that their engineering made a maintenance nightmare? Zamperla offered to completely transform the ride at a (likely) much lower cost than anyone else would. They probably shouldn't have been trusted to design the train, but I don't blame CP for taking a swing here.

I also don't feel particularly bad for people whose home park is Cedar Point. Sorry TT2 is closed, go ride one of the other 72 world class roller coasters. We'll even give you a modern Vekoma as a consolation.

But most new gen intamin LSM launches have been reliable.

If Zamperla does figure out the trains, they’ll have a proven train model able to handle such high speeds. It’s not all doom and gloom. A large part of the risk was the unknown.

Yeah. I feel like it was a big risk with that 400 ft spike though.

I hope this ride is an overwhelming massive success operations and maintenance cost wise along with Flash at Great Adventure and Six Flags buys sooooooo many Vekomas. So many.
Me wonders if a Vekoma Flyer could be an option for Cedar Point next, they don’t have a flying coaster model and something like F.L.Y. As another North American first could be monumental

I guess the one pet peeve that I have about this ride is the lack of some sort of theming in this ride. Maybe they might add some water features or other sort of theming (a la Maverick). Like some fountains or a flowing River. once the ride officially opens up.

Regardless, this looks to be an amazing ride and you can expect me to be at Cedar Point at least once next year.

I wouldn't read too much into the lack of theming right now. This decision came so last-minute that the likelihood that a scenic contractor has even completed the first round of a proposal may be slim. Hopefully Cedar Point will announce more information in the months ahead as development continues.

That’s what I was thinking. They gotta have someone at least looking into what kind of aquatic features to add to like the queue or the ride itself

I'm pretty certain they slapped the announcement render together within the span of a few days with some energy drinks and ketamine.

My hope as well. Reading into the brief backstory, it seems like there could be something planned with the "Lake Erie shipping crane tower". Maybe make the tilt track itself look like a creaky wooden platform as it's described?

I do fully expect there will be more scenery around the ride, as mentioned, this had to have been an insanely short turnaround to make this animation.

I just hope they repaint the ride/track before opening. I know it wasn't their choice, but red & grey doesn't seem to work with a Siren theme (at least not the sea-dwelling kind). A nice purple/blue/teal would be ideal.

Don’t count on the repainting part, but I imagine they’ll have some sort of scenery for the ride
