The last 2 times I was out here the water down the big drop was turned off :(

Just not the same with it just being a bare ramp.

Does anyone else think it's odd that the catwalk on the left (going down left, facing it side right) side of the drop abruptly ends a few feet above the concrete trough at the bottom with nothing blocking someone from falling several feet?

Guessing it was one of those originally designed pieces that got abandoned in place as the park changed operating procedures.

Edit: guess I can answer my own question - the picture in this post indicates that the catwalk has not been hooked up to anything for a long time if ever:

“Sir, does it make sense to run the log flume in 40 degrees?”

It's always a catch-22...if they run the water rides and it's cold everyone complains, if they weren't running everyone would complain they weren't running (and it would be 80 degrees). This is always the biggest challenge with operations in March-- one day it's spring, the next its winter again.

I would add you have to get ride ops cycles to get them in practice remember we start this year off by going almost into spring break.

At least the water cannons on Shenandoah Lumber Co are fairly benign. They have a nozzle on them so you get drizzled with a light spray of water at worst. Compared to the cannons at Escape from Pompeii, which completely drench you with thick laminar ropes of water, SLC’s cannons aren’t a huge detractor for me.

I recall a big shot of cold water in the back from the cannons. Absolutely should be disabled below 80 degrees (as should any other soaking feature). I was starting to ride a water ride every visit when warm enough (not yet), with these repairs I'll more likely act as they don't exist.

I don't recall ever seeing any significant spray from the cannons there. But there are several that are aimed to hit you from behind possibly making it seem like more then it really was by not seeing it coming.
