RE: Survey Soliciting Interest in the Creation of Sesame Place Williamsburg
Ok, as for the parking garage thing, since this an area of expertise for me:
The price thing sometimes gets extremely blown out of proportion. The higher the number of levels the higher the price. The technology that goes into it. The type of construction it is matter too.
For example I saw someone reference the Disney structure. That’s a 5 story parking garage built over a multi lane entry toll plaza. Needing something big and strong enough to keep a gap that big with all that weight supported is going to cost a whole lot more.
A 2 level (ground floor and 1 above) would cost a bit more than a normal lot, but JCC rules is also going to make them have a minimum number of handicap and total number of spots to accommodate “at capacity” for both parks.
So clearly they are going to have to do something. I find it hard pressed for them to find space for another lot, so going up might be the only solution to it.
