The one night that I ever worked Haunt at KD I was physically assaulted 4 times on a Friday. I’d imagine these actors at Busch deal with similar occurrences. It’s definately more of a fixed variable.

While I in no way condone the actions that led to this controversy, it seems to me that BGW security has overreacted. I have heard other stories of people being similarly threatened.

Maybe they don't have a procedure that covers this particular incident, so it fell under an umbrella policy.

I find it weird that they were able to reenter the park and then received the ban letter. I know someone that screenshot and reposted in a FB group the pictures that had been posted of inside DarKoaster during construction. The very next day the park put a lock on their pass and when they tried to use it they were flagged and security was called. While they were able to clear it up and get the pass turned back on by proving that they had pulled to pictures off social media and not entered a restricted area to take them it does show that the park has the ability to rapidly identify and flag passes so if they were banning @chrisorris24 why didn't they flag that pass in the system?
Great question. My pass still shows active right now. They clearly wrote it on the 14th, I received it in my mailbox this afternoon. They never allowed me to write a statement at the time and acted as though everything was good. Security office said I have to reply with a letter, when I called this afternoon to speak to them
For what it’s worth, security threatened me with a ban years ago when I noticed a large number of police cars in the England lot during HOS and took a picture of them. (The police seemed to be responding to a fight that was happening by the wheelchair rentals.) Two employees came up to me and told me to delete the photo or I’d be banned. I was scared and complied, but I still remember that incident because it still felt like reckless abuse of power and unnecessary bullying. What would they have done if I’d live-streamed it or immediately posted the photo or sent it to a groupchat where I couldn’t delete it?

My own little $0.02 on your situation compared to this one:
I can see where security would threaten a ban in that situation to get the pictures/video to stop quickly because of the potential for events to escalate quickly. Not saying they were in the right and you were in the wrong at all, but I can understand using the most stern punishment to get someone to stop (mostly because not everyone responds to kind language and polite requests).
What I see from this timeline is they talked to all parties, took at least a day or two to review, then issued a ban. To me that’s a sign that what they saw was enough to warrant skipping other options (like getting payment for broken/damaged property) and going right to a ban. But also quite perplexing that the letter was sent on the 14th yet they were able to get into the park over the weekend.
And just to be clear - not painting BGW out to be right or anything in this situation either. But banning people isn’t something any place would do willingly and for minor infractions because property damage can also happen without intent.
As I noted above, this is not the first time I have heard of something like this happening. For example, I know of someone who was formally banned (with a letter) for being the victim of an assault. It feels as if they have one tool in their arsenal and default to it with little hesitation.

I have noticed that bag check and others now have people in gray uniforms with logos that don't appear to be either BGW/WCUSA or local law enforcement. These people also appear to have handcuffs and other items on their belts. So does anyone know if BGW has started hiring private security or special police officers from a private firn?
I can now confirm that they have hired an outside company called Colonial Sleuths and Protective Services to run bag check and other parts of security. Looking at their website I have so many questions Private Security and Investigation – Williamsburg, VA

That sucks, this is not Howl-O-Scream, nor is there any place for violence at any time of year.
We need a chaperone policy. The crowd of teenagers is completely out of control, never in my life have I expierenced such a destructive crowd in every single house.

I could go on a long rant about how BGW needs to then go after these kids and their parents monetarily for vandalism and destruction of property, additionally banning them from the park, and set the expectations of what would happen. But we know they won’t.
I could go on a long rant about how if they put time and effort into things they would look better and attract better clientele but they would likely point to the above as to why they shouldn’t.
I could go on a rant about chaperone policies and age limits but we know that it would last one day since they won’t want to deal with the blowback.
At the end of the day it’s somewhat sad that people have the suggestions as hundreds over the year have been brought up, yet year over year the quality gets worse while fight become more frequent and the park just shrugs. Because, and this is the saddest part, United Parks likely just sits in their offices not caring about what’s actually going on in the parks and just looks at the money bottom line. Who cares if 4 fights break out and 10 people get arrested, the 40 that came causing all of that spent $175 each!
