Here is how I view the situation, the park has very talented performers, but there are even more or just as talented performers elsewhere. There should be no problem if the park just wants to hire fresh better performers. Now, with that said, it is wrong of the park to restrict the current performers from auditions or whatever is going on. I think everyone should re-audition for each new part they play because maybe they can find someone better.

But like I said, if they aren't given the fair treatment they deserve as far as re-auditioning, or being able to, that is totally in the wrong.

Flaw with that statement.

Talented Performer =/= Passionate Performer.

Performers who have been at the park for a long time have a huge passion for not just performing but the park and what it stands.. errr.. stood for. Also having an emotional connection to it. The same dance moves performed by different people in the same manner will never be the same. EMOTION is what it is about.

I can see where your coming from, but why should the park make a clean slate and audition all over again, just to "refresh" the department? There are amazing performers already at BG, and truthfully, that "fresh talent" will probably perform the rolls the same way as the performers that are already performing those parts. Because a roll is a roll, and unless this "fresh talent" plans on not following the script, or wants to do their own thing. I guarantee you that you will notice no difference in the performance of the shows. So tell me why they should fire all their current performers and pay buckets of money that they don't have, to re-cast performers that will probably do no better than the current performers? Even if you do include them in the re-casting why should they put people's jobs in peril, even though in every single way they deserve their jobs, and shouldn't have to fight for it, a 2nd time. And if you would ask me those performers deserve their jobs not a slim chance that you get by auditioning, not after what they've been through. But that's just my opinion.

Emotion comes with the experience in the position, I do agree to that.

That or the desire to be at some place like BGW and not just for the resume marks or to have a job. There was once a time where BGW had a wait list to perform there. Performing at BGW was something that was high regarded at BGW used to be the Pinnacle of Park Entertainment; yes even over Disney. Those days are lost. It is now another theme park with shows. The emotion of many performers have gone cold resulting in the emotions of park goers to go cold. Lower attendance at shows and the park in general is a direct result.

I used to visit BGW once a week all summer to just see shows. This year I have been once and only because out of towners were here I wanted to spend time with. You can only do the same rides but so many times (see WDW issues) but shows, even the same ones, ones that connect to the audience can be experienced time over with new feelings being invoked on the audience. Nothing is invoked to me but sorry now.

Oh my gosh, I never realized they change the hamlet names to the country names on the France Clock and the German Shield! I guess that is just one of those really small changes you just have to notice.

I have to say all this change has me concerned as we haven't been since march and beginning to fear that HoS and CT might be a waste.. I'm no fan of SG and what has been done. I really wish the Busch family would get possession of this park back and clean house in upper management to get BGW back where it belongs. How sad would it be for BG not to win any more awards like it has for the past 20+ years? would that be the wake up call? How about they ship SG to a sea world or even BGT.. sad sad state of affairs.. :dodgy:

I would not count on the Busch family for anything. All they care about is money, if that were not true they would still be running the park and AB and kingsmill. Even if they had the money to buy the parks back I seriously doubt they would. And if they did it would still not be like old times, they would need to make money from them now since they would no longer be a marketing tool / tax write off.

This. 100% this. People beg for the Busch family back, but that wouldn't be an instant fix. They'd be facing many of the same problems Blackstone is right now.

I wouldn't trade anyone over Scott. Even if the quality of the shows are not the best, the employees still like their jobs and actually like working there.

I will take friendly employees over show quality at KD any day. I've only been to the park 2 times this summer and I have to say, the employees have been beyond nice and helpful each of those visits. Some might not be the fastest at what they do (operators), but they still have made the riders in the stations laugh and have fun during the long wait.
