...would mean they falsely advertised.

I'm not a lawyer either but loads of companies false advertise and no one really bats an eye to it. Just look at every cell phone company ever, every insurance company ever, every food related company ever. I mean even Coca-Cola outright said "How do you people expect to believe these ads?" when they were questioned about the nutritional value of Vitamin Water.

Well b.mac millions of Americans believed the tobacco companies when they said tobacco doesn't harm you. Guess what.. they were lying then. Just sayin' as a country we should take would big corporations say with a grain of salt.

However, companies are sued for false advertising. I've receive e-mail messages and snail mail on a routine basis. Examples... I just received one about Bank of America lowering the credit limits on Home Equity Loans at the beginning of the housing crisis. Another example.. Microsoft advertising the Windows RT tablet is suppose to have 128gb of disk space but when you load the operating system it doesn't. Companies are sued by consumers on a fairly routine basis for false advertising. In fact there is a lawsuit that was recently filed against CSC for cheating their hourly employees out of wages. Women successfully sued WalMart for sex discrimination.

If you ask me, it sounds like BGW has outsourced the Entertainment Department to Bob Cline. The new employees will be employed by Bob Cline and their payroll checks will come from his company. It wouldn't surprise me if Bob Cline has a transparency clause in their contract with BGW where they will appear at all times to be employed by BGW.

As far as Business and Law are concerned from what I've been informed by someone who actually took college based classes on the topic of Business Law, there is not a whole lot of laws governing what businesses can and can't do, and the laws that do exist are toned down with many loop holes. For example, a soda company can only advertise the soda as New and Improved if they change on thing about the product. This could even mean a change as simple as changing the wrapper on the bottle as the wrapper on the bottle is considered part of the product.

From what is advertised housing wise, yes they do offer *some* housing to *some* performers probably the lead roles. Or they will provide *some* assistance. As mentioned elsewhere they give you a packet with close by locations and will match you up with a few other performers or technicians. So they do stick to their word, but don't come through fully.

As for the pay, I'd imagine most of the performers will just *barely* make $400 a week, if not just under $400 a week. Because price is based on hours worked they can schedule you to where you are supposed to get enough hours to make $400 per week, but they may cut your hours short occasionally and therefore you may not get all $400 per week.

When you look at it, they can say they offer these things, but only the very minimum is to be expected.

^Their hours are even shorter than that. Performers are only clocked in for their time on stage. As soon as the show is over they clock out and wait till the next performance.

This sounds a lot like the way a truck driver operates; IF you log what you do correctly & legitimately. It doesn't seem fair. Hard to make decent money that way. :(

I was told a few years back that performers clock in and do performances and warm-ups in between shows and then clock out with one set break in the middle of the day. However in between shows they use that time for extra rehearsing, relaxing, and such, but are still paid.

They are not forced to clock out in between shows, that time is for rehearsing, fitness, maintenance, preperation, relaxing, waiting, etc. they only punch out once a day for anywhere from 30- 60 min depending on how many hours worked. Bt they are regularly sent home early due to weather and low park attendance.

Just would like to say that some of Scott's "creative team" has become disgusted with his operation and corruption. They are no longer sending any of their talents to Busch and are spreading the word in their community and connections for people not to come here. These people are renown in the entertainment biz and their word holds a lot of weight. The reputation at Busch is so bad that even Bob Cline will not be able to save them. Why do you think Bob is here. He is losing a lot of talent and money to other competing agencies if you haven't heard. One in particular.

Whether or not any of these rumors are true or not, when a postings include the words corruption and other such terms, I am concerned that this fan site could be held libel for slander. Just don't want us to get in to trouble...

It would just be Libel, as Slander has to be verbal. But, I do think that it is a possibility, albeit an unlikely one.

As I've said in the past, if the park has a problem with something they see here, all they need to do is contact us. We're reasonable people- all we ask for is communication.

As for the conversation as a whole, I personally see no reason to shut down either side of the discussion. We've stated multiple times that everything in this thread is to be considered a rumor and we've made it abundantly clear multiple times that we won't be reporting on any of it as news unless we see rock-solid proof. We're intervening when we see something that we think crosses the line but what crosses what line is always up to interpretation by the reader. If you, the reader, think something crosses a line, report the post. If the park thinks that something is over the line, they're more than welcome to come to us and we'll be more than happy to work with them within reason.

So I just read something that the parks are 1.4 billion in debt?

Um...oh my god? How does this happen? That's not pennies in your car's cupholder kind of change. I can kind of see now why they are running a tight budget currently.

Well, an investment company owned them; then when they went to an IPO, they ended up paying Blackstone a very insane amount of cash and I believe part of the problem lies there.
