There are several factors in ratings. These ratings have been used to accuse casts of not doing well just as much as the ratings have been said not to matter. Most numbers are based on "Excellent" ratings. Meaning everyone could have liked Entwined but did not give it an excellent rating which means excellent ratings are only at 60% or below for the show making it look horrible.

It could still have a 100% good rating but those are typically not seen. There are other questions involved that might be the only question someone will be asked walking around the park. Fro example "Didn't you think Wunderbarn was better than the show last year?". If you say yes then it is automatically marked as a positive rating. You could still hate the show but agree it was better than cocktoberfest but they see it as a positive rating to manipulate their surveys. Then you have audience count during shows. Show times fluctuate to see when they get the biggest audiences.

Selling tickets to each individual show is the best indicator but unfortunately this is the next best method they have come up with to show guest reception. All year long last year it was said that Entwined had been received very well yet we all knew that the numbers were terrible.

So to answer how SG reacts. He tried revamping the show several times last year pouring more money and time into it while cutting other shows and hours that were more popular. He thought adding more show times of a show people did not like would make it's numbers increase. What it actually did was make beer sales decrease significantly but that is another story. These numbers have also been an excuse to get rid of old shows after they were manipulated of course.

SG used to stage manage Boogie Band. What was the first thing he cut?

As somebody who is in charge of entertaining the guests, this seems to be defeating the purpose of the job itself... You don't have to respond, but I'll go ahead and assume the reasoning behind this is something like, "They don't know what they're supposed to like."

What's even more to the point is the park absolutely hates this site with a passion. They probably hate this site as much as this site hates EITA (no offense meant to those they do enjoy it, as I enjoy it myself).

They don't *hate* the site .. it's just things went a different direction after I left ... not to say I was the glue or anything, but - you know - this *was( my project and all. I still don't know what happened with the Social Media output all together, actually ... it's completely different now versus "before".

But that's another topic -

Or maybe like, "How do I cover my @ss best?"

Not that connected with anything in the park but I have a strong hunch the number will be smaller than we hope, as much as I don't want to believe it.

^I almost snorted in my Mountain Dew!!

Just kidding, but that's what you always say, CK (I'm not even drinking anything right now :p). No wonder you just joined Zachary in the "I have so many "Thanks" my "Thanks" count is over two lines now" club! Seriously, though, there is always hope.

Maybe they'll surprise us. After all, an ungodly amount of the budget is in entertainment, so maybe we'll see a decent cast for shows, at least for HOS. Keep in mind, I have no experience with what I'm talking about when I say this!

There's no doubt in my mind that the park will get another crop of good performers, but it also means we'll be losing a ton of performers who care about the park, the shows they're in, and the people they work with. These are performers who know their parts and have been playing them for, in some cases, years. Not to mention the fact that with what the park is dealing with right now, this seems like a really crappy time to go spend a ton more money that the park doesn't have to restaff a large fraction of a department that's already hemorrhaging money.

Anyone "connected" enough here to find out how many make it?

So far, it sounds quite bad.

Please, anyone in the know, get in contact. My email is in my signature if you don't want to make an account on the forum and message me that way. As always, 100% anonymous and confidential- I've gotten good at this over the years.

Bob Cline is arrogant to think $400/week and no housing paid is enough to attract A-class Broadway NYC talent. Good Broadway talent should realize that playing a theme park is a step backward from playing Broadway shows. Busch is a stepping stone to Broadway, not the other way around. Maybe Bob Cline intends to only cast subpar Broadway talent that will take this job. Also 10 days of rehearsals before HOS & before Xmastown is not enough time for an entirely new cast to learn a big show and learn park procedures . Even with veteran casts, 2-3 weeks of rehearsals has been the norm. This could all backfire. Busch will have a lot of fired performers all at once collecting unemployment in September , plus they will have to play Bob Cline and Karma Camp a fortune (which I thought the park couldn’t afford), and they will have to offer these Broadway actors more money than what is offered now. If the Bob Cline cast doesn’t work out, the fired Busch performers will have either already taken other performing jobs, or they will have moved away from Williamsburg. To cover its bases Busch is encouraging performers to apply for lower-paying non-performing jobs to keep them on deck.

I am not supposed to divulge names or positions and things are never 100% permanent let alone all the indecision going on. I can say no female singer has a performing job as of now for HOS and CT. A few dancers have been cast but the rest were told to take a hike.

Some were even told their technique wasn't good enough yet many have danced with renown companies. One of them was Joffrey Ballet. Look it up. Only the guys that I have mentioned before in their respective posts have jobs right now for HOS and maybe CT. Most of the musicians are safe except the ones that were fired earlier this season and coming up at the end of the core season. A lot of them are leaving as well because they can't take SG anymore.

There will be a lot of positions reduced for all the HOS shows anyway. Busch is auditioning in NY Aug 11th. They say they will start rehearsals Sept 1st but secretly want to get the new performers to start Aug 14th. GOOD LUCK!

None of this is enough time for anyone especially someone living in the city. Busch will most certainly have to pay for them to move into the International Housing Village which is not common practice. The ones that might audition for this are people like Busch performers who drive up there from out of town.

Most likely people who do not have the experience that Busch performers have. Anyone good is going to know this is a bad situation and it's just too quick. Especially with no promise of CT. And even if they were promised. Plus in these special meetings the office has said their eyes have been opened by Bob Cline and they didn't know a lot of their procedures and work practices were wrong.

Let me tell you that the performers that have been there for years have battled SG every year on making things proper and getting the proper equipment they don't want to give. SG has personally sat down in the Italy green room with the Festival Italiano dancers and said if you don't stop complaining about shoes then none of you will be rehired back.

Guess what one of the things Bob Cline told them? He said they need the proper shoes and what they have is not it. Go figure. And now the office is all enlightened. May seem trivial but it's like that with EVERY DETAIL. 2nd Quarterly Earnings come out in Aug and there will be a live broadcast conference call for SWPE. This will be very interesting.

I think the writing is on the wall. I think like someone told me as well, the Blackstone/Scott/Carl regime will be done after this year. HR is taking steps to prevent this contract withdrawal in the future. Many employees have all been told by "unbiased" HR, "maybe you misunderstood or heard them wrong" when referring to employees' grievances against the office. HR always defends the office. That is their job.

But getting back to Bob Cline. He has purposely done this as well to make that $$. He does not cast Broadway talent despite popular opinion. He casts national tours. Non equity work.

My guess is because Bob Cline is such a "pro" is the business that they are more inclined to listen to him than some performer that is low life to them.

There is something that should be noted as well, the Dispute Resolution Policy. This is a policy that is meant for any team members who have a dispute for any reason with the company. Check out the link to the policy here: DRP

Level 1

Level 2

Level 3

The DRP is supposed to be a way for Team Members, even performers to report disputes to HR officially and should local HR not be able to handle the issue, the dispute can be taken to corporate, with lawyers and all that fun stuff.

It really is sad to see that this is an issue.

This thread appears to have been started by someone who obviously has a huge personal ax to grind. I would ask everyone to please keep that in mind when digesting the information that's being posted.
