Who is Roy Richards?

He's very well connected amongst the performing staff within the park- more so than I have been historically to be honest. That said, because, as far as I know, he doesn't get much (if anything) from higher up the chain, I'd take anything he says beyond the status of performers with a rather large grain of salt. The park we loved may be falling to bits, but the park as a business hasn't taken its last breath yet.

Chill guys. The park isn't going to shut down, and if it does for some reason it won't be but more than a year (rebranding). Why? It's a theme park for god's sake. A theme park with five major roller coasters. A theme park that pulls in roughly 2.5 or more million customers a year. If Blackstone decides to cut its losses and dump the park, you know what will happen? Another company will buy the park. That's what happens. You know what will happen if for some unforeseeable reason another company doesn't buy the park? China will buy it. I'm not saying that those are particularly wonderful options for us longtime fans of the park, but it's not like the park will close its gates and be torn down or sit on the edge of Williamsburg abandoned. That just doesn't happen.

In other news, I think this Roy fellow may just be a little bit in shock after yesterday. I know I would probably go on an "end of days" rant myself if that happened to me and all of my coworkers.

Here, have a smile. :] See there, it's more or less okay.

Chill, guy, I don't think that was really said.

Atlantis, it hasn't been here, but it sure has in a few other circles.

Burger King can make your burger any way you want it!

Whoops, wasn't posted here but it has been elsewhere.

Everyone is right in taking everything with a grain of salt. So much info is passed around that it can get very convoluted. However I Will say that bold claims such as a park closing would not be said if that info has not been given by sources inside Blackstone, Sea Corporate, and all the way down to little ole stage managers. That info is real. I will say the timing of it is debatable. A closing would only be if there is no buyer or the buyer really needed to overhaul the park. There has been trouble finding a buyer but yeah I don't see a valuable theme park like Busch abandoned completely. It is a small world and you would be surprised how many people have friends working inside Blackstone and Sea Corporate.

Well, I hope Six Flags isn't the buyer and if they are, I hope they don't let it turn into a dump like the one up here in NJ. Well, at least I got to visit BGW once, even if it seems I missed the best days of the park. Celtic Fyre was great, top notch. I remember my DD wanted her picture with the "princess" (the bride) and the performers were all so sweet to her.

The idea that some of Scott's actions (KK) were a big FU to the community, but there's little evidence to support it. There has been talks of taking issues or in the actors for some time.

That's what happens when parks change management multiple times in a few years, and sadly BGW appears to be in the middle of the same situation right now. Personally as long as someone like Mark Shapiro doesn't take over BGW won't get in as bad of shape as the Six Flags parks did.
