"Washed up musician" doesn't sound exciting? Oh man this could be great! Have you ever seen 'The Wall'?

Yes. And in the Wall he leads a fascist takeover of Britain (well not literally, of course). He doesn't learn about the importance of friends and family at Christmastime.

Of course not....The washed up musician would have to blend with something more 'Christmas-y'...Hey, at least the drug references aspect would be covered :)

Think of the heart warming end to "Sid and Nancy"!

"Sid! What about the farewell drugs?!?!?"

(Yes, I know, not really the ending.)

The end of Dogs in Space was quite touching, as well.

I've been really busy the last couple weeks and maybe I missed something, but is there any information out there besides what's in the OP? I mean, most of the shows for HoS and CT have been well received. Why the hate train already?

I actually am hoping to enjoy it, oddly enough. I tend to like remakes of a Christmas Carol, and I love the punk scene. My biggest worry is that the "punk rocker" will be nothing of the sort and will end up singing some saccharine musical number at the end about love and family and whatnot. Punk is emphatically NOT about love and family and whatnot, so I envision him completely selling out. That will make me angry. Although, I suppose anger emphatically is punk rock, so perhaps on some meta level that would work, as well.

My theory is that he needed some British rock Scrooge equivalent, and went for the obvious bad boys of the London music scene: the punks.  It seems to make sense on its surface, but I'm not sure how the music lends itself to a theme park Christmas show, and I really don't want so see anyone sell out his politics and culture in the name of traditional values. Furthermore, they weren't about hate; they were protesting the political and cultural environment.  They were angry, yes, but they probably had every right to be.  Listen to the Sex Pistols and the Clash.  Are they entirely wrong?

I hope I am completely misjudging all of this...

I don't really understand why it has to be rock themed. Is it because of London Rocks? Doesn't seem to make much sense to me IMO.

Scott's seasonal stuff tends to be pretty good, so I have good expectations for this show. Probably nothing on the scale of Miracles last year or Fiends, but still.

- If they're really going for the whole rock motif, I fully expect to hear Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

I'm sure this has been done before...

Thanks google for not failing me.

A common defense or point made in this thread is that the park typically does well with their HOS and CMT shows. While yes that typically is the case, there is one exception, the park typically cannot completely pull off a show with an intricate plot/story. And what does this show have, or is likely to have for that matter? An intricate plot/story. I thought I should point that out.
