RE: Utility Markings Spotted Around Il Teatro di San Marco

I wonder if they will have that whole area boarded off after HOS? One thing I do know is there probably wouldn't be any (Italy) Christmas dinner or Mama Stella platters this Christmas Town. :(

Earlier this week Joe and I found utility markings, where all types of colored dots could be found around the general area of It Teatro di San Marco. They seemed to start in front of the Artisans of Italy and Bella Casa shops. They then went to a center plaza outside of the Theatre, near Gelato di San Marco, and then continued on in front of Ristorante Della Piazza and ended around the San Marco bathrooms.

I dont really know much about the changes being made, but its interesting to see the ideas and such that people think may be coming. Thanks for posting things like this.

This is just speculation, but I heard through a co-worker last week there was going to be a 2017 coaster, obviously I don't put much faith in it, but this thread makes one wonder. Wingrider or flying coaster gets my vote.

I have a source telling me they are renovating the current Italy restaurant.

I hope they don't mess it up too much. Even though, as someone pointed out, that it was last updated in the 80s I really like the older feel to it, especially the path that goes through all the shops with the awnings and such. I also adore the pavilion and hope that doesn't get a huge makeover.

While Davincis Garden hasn't changed much, there have been at least three upgrades to San Marco that I can think of off the top of my head.

Just for clarity...

I wouldn't be worried about work to the surrounding area at this point, until we see evidence, like other permits. The only thing this permit filed for work on is Ristorante Della Piazza. I couldn't imagine any other big changes coming to the area. Plus, the park has already put some work into the surrounding area recently. A new patio, a new Gelato shop, renovations to both gift shops, a new stage and detailing in Il Teatro di San Marco, and many other small details like concrete and pathway replacement earlier this year. Really, the only two things that haven't been worked on in the Teatro part of San Marco recently are the restrooms and Ristorante Della Piazza. So maybe they plan on getting those two things done with this year?

If the restaurant is being extended to the theater I feel like that will make San Marco feel like a tunnel. The plaza in front of the restaurant gives the area a great wide open feeling. This will be interesting to say the least.

The restaurant is being extended to the pavillion? How so? Like, across the walkway that leads to the bathrooms or... what? Maybe I'm just imagining this wrong.

yes
same menu plus new items like pizza

Well then how are people going to get to the newly renovated restrooms? Wouldn't extending it all the way over to the pavilion block the entrance to them?

Oh good, the same REALLY bad food with, and I base this on the parks previous offerings, disgusting pizza.

What could go wrong?

Mushy pasta with a side of cold flavorless cardboard anyone?
