RE: Project 2018: RMC Hurler

This really excites me if they actually mean the biggest announcement because if you ask me initimidator was quiet a big announcement.

It looks as if all the lift reinforcement we saw last week is done. The focus has shifted to the turn right before RMC Hurler's first drop. Lots of new wood up there!

This is the first time we've seen a banked crosstie on RMC Hurler. Is the structure starting to look like a barrel roll drop to anyone else?

My spine is starting to tingle on whether or not there will be a barrel roll drop

I'm a little bit puzzled by the lengths on Colossus and wonder if they are accurate. I know with Twisted Twins that they didn't exactly combine the two layouts, but used portions of both coasters to create an entirely new and unique coaster while removing the rest. Colossus, I thought used more of both of the original layouts than these numbers seem to imply.

RMC actually removed a ton of Colossus track.  If you watch the Twisted Colossus POV you can see remaining footers where some of the original track once stood.

You can see them to the right from the top of the lift.

Here you can see them to the right of the first drop.

And After the zero-g roll to the left.

That is beautiful. Hope that's the start of a barrel roll turn into the first drop.

I love how the added height allows you to see the coaster from new places! This thing is going to draw some serious attention when it's all said and done.

At the right it's just diagonal bracing, anticipating forces, which it will have either way. The first pic shows it clearer:

It looks to me this will have a pre-drop banked curve, with it dropping off right after the lift -- see the zoomed-out pic, steel ledgers already in(?) -- entering at speed a very steep drop unless that's the inversion. Similar to the original except insane. As more ledgers go in we'll know more. Right now it does look weird though.

There are slightly slanted wood ties at the top of the 2nd hill of the backstretch, possibly slanted airtime.

As to the info this is the biggest ever announcement, there's another SBNO attraction, Action Theater, and I never see the Crypt run either. Plus space around Delirium. As well as possible cross-chain connections -- retheme??

RE: Project 2018: RMC Hurler

^^I don't think so, although you could already see it from Dominator. You can see it a lot better from Rebel Yell than before.

As to my previous post, I just think they haven't shown their hand yet. I see from videos the rollover drops are more the drop itself. They have enough out of the way for sure.

Today's big news from RMCHurler is the new support tower directly behind Jukebox Diner. This structural addition screams barrel roll drop. Work today seems to be focusing on more lift reinforcement, and the addition of railings to the final brakes.

Took a look while I was there today. I admittedly know less than nothing about coaster construction, but it looked to me like the slanted piece of steel bracing was for a banked turn around at the top of the hill. I hope I'm wrong, because I want a barrel roll, that's just the way it looks to a complete layperson.
