Why does ANYTHING have to be there? It is a clock. Let it be just that.

I also want to note I am not bashing the whole entertainment department. There are good people and intentions there. The issue is the leadership *cough* *SG* *COUGH* giving them direction.

Just found this from opening year...

The Wilkomenhaus used to be a make-shift Festhaus the year before Oktoberfest opened, except you ate outside. The Gazebo, used to have the smallest of stages next to it, and that is where a smaller version of This is Oktoberfest performed, while the Oompa band played under the gazebo. I've seen pictures of the show, somewhere....

But look at that mural on the Glockenspiel.

I wouldn't call it a "make-shift Festhaus", it was built and intended for the purpose of making and selling meals. The park turned it into a shop because it was likely more profitable so it didn't compete with Das Festhaus. Seeing how it would have been like two major eateries side by side.

I love social spaces like that. Every section of the park should have at least a small one.

Yes, it looks great. And this was also before the Glockenspiel was marred by that #$@&%! ugly speaker. Also, it looks like the dado below the alcoves had a different texture and was perhaps made of some different material than the current crappy-looking brown aluminum.

Okay...wow...

Oompa bands have existed for quite some time and play a certain style of music. Clown bands are really just bands where the musicians are dressed as clowns and don't really have any cultural significance.
