To continue this discussion, RPT seems like it is in a state of flux... Whether to renew a show or to tear it down for some type of new attraction...

I think, depending on the new Cirque Dreams: Jungle Fantasy works at BGT we may see a resurgence of the RPT...

Personally, If it remains a theater, I would like to be semi-enclosed...

I'd be elated if RPT got a new show similar to Cirque Dreams. I've always loved the shows there, but I preferred Imaginique over Kinetix.

Overall, GET A CIRQUE SHOW IN ROYAL PALACE THEATER ALREADY! :)

Somebody mentioned replacing RPT with a new Le Mans car ride (with better technology). That would be awesome:D!

2014 coaster?

Though I actually really love this theater... so much potential for so many things... They need to find a new place for the catacombs already and give it a cirque show.

They need to ditch Catcombs. When I go again, I already know the old mazes. I NEED new ones to keep me busy.

Well they dont have the budget to have a new maze every year, according to the howl-o-scream director guy... They have to reuse everything and every few years they can put in a new maze or two... And they still reuse the old mazes, just give them a slight change in theme(you know how hunted has been just about the same for ages, except backwards with different characters?). I find this quite ridiculous cause KD can have ATLEAST one new maze every year and changes the layout and props in most of their major ones. With all the times the park reached capacity last year, we better see some bigger better changes, with more things to do. We may be experts at avoiding lines, but the GP only getting to do the bitten/hunted area and seeing a show or two is 100% horrible. Busch just needs more mazes and shows for HOS period....

/HOSrant

But while were on the subject, moving catacombs and nixing monster stomp for a bigger, better, badder HOS show in the pavilion that can seat more people would be an AWESOME move by busch. Fire twirling, chainsaw juggling, A freaky cirque type show with lots of music and lights, that combines elements of monster stomp with the eerie kind of circus/sideshow acts would be awesome!

Its really not that great if ya ask me... Tradition, but now hardly worth killing 2 hours of HOS time for the lines for a standard show... Plus BGE seems to be on some kind of "Kidsiderate" romp, makng everything too family friendly...

Where did the talk come from for monster stomp not returning? The place is packed for almost every show. The show they need to do something with is the one in the fest house. That show hasn't been good since Fiends in the Fest House. As it is in the last couple years they've taken out two shows for HOS, Starfright Orchestra and the one in the RPT. If they take out monster stomp there isn't much left. You can only do the mazes so many times.

You can only see the same show year after year so many times.

Anyways though I feel monster stomp should go, I actually feel they should do some kind of Halloween cirque-esh show in the RPT(or anything in RPT as it's replacement). Chainsaw juggling, fire eating/breathing/dancing/poi + some of the elements of monster stomp and the other shows. Run it two or 3 times a night, take away monster stomp and use the theater for a maze. RPT will eat more people and It should be really easy to develop an impressive show in RPT.

Obviously the concerts will be held in the RPT this season, but apparently the park is looking to improve Festhaus Park for concerts in future seasons. Any thoughts on the future of the RPT if FP if converted into legit concert grounds?

I think they'll keep them both... No real reason not to. One for park shows and the other for festivals and such year round, without having to close off a park show...

This is nothing but opinion but I think RPT will be around for at least another 5 years minimum. It all depends on what is done over at Festhaus Park. Then theres the connection it has with France. Most of the walls and building located on the ride side of the path walking towards New France are that of the RPT. Losing RPT would mean a complete overhaul of the entire area.

While I personally never frequent the palace theater (except to stand in line for the catacombs) I have a hard time believing they would ditch it given that their summer concerts occur there and they do all kinds if grade school kid competitions in their throughout the season on weekdays (I've seen dance competitions going on from griffon and the sky ride).

I am all for a change over there but my guess would be that if they're going to change it up, they will likely still maintain some kind of multipurpose theater of some form there.
