Last hill and rise up into turnaround has been retracked on North side. South side still in progress.
Now if they could just paint the damned lift hill!
I would love to see them paint all of Racer 75 for the 50th. It should be presented how Kings Island presents Racer (minus that obnoxious ass lift hill sound).
If they only retracked the North side, will they be working on the south side during the season, or they will just be uneven until the end of the season?
South side retrack is currently in progress

It’s racing today April 20. Although south is only running 1 train and north is running 2. But they are consistently racing a set and letting the 3rd run solo.
The synchronized lift hill is working perfectly. Both trains leave the top of the lift hill at the same time. North loses some speed in the far turnaround and South is running all the time. But there seems to be more people on the South train since it’s running only 1.
Both sides have had the entry hill and the first half of the far turnaround replaced. The entry into the far turnaround used to have an abrupt jolt at the top because of the steepness of the hill tapering off quickly. They changed the hill so that jolt is gone and it’s smooth as butter.
All in all it’s running in prime form.

I’d really like to see modern chaser lights added to Racer 75. I’d also like to see the queue remodeled so that guests enter in the center of the platform so it’s easier to race friends like how Kings Island is set up
Speaking of Kings Island can they show Kings Dominion their wooden coaster seat dividers? Would be a godsend for Racer 75 and Grizzly.

I also wouldn't mind if they could shorten the exit queue as well. Maybe relocate the coke machines and have the exit end there.
Please do this. The exit queue is ridiculous.
Yes it’s frustrating when you see exactly where you could exit onto the midway in front of the ride entrance but then you have to walk a half mile just because

I do wish they’d gone with just “Racer”, though. I think the addition of “75” is cheesy. Plus, I’ve always felt like the cartoony 70s-style logo they created looks clunky and cheap, and I wish they went for something a little more classic and timeless like KI’s Racer logo. Or go for something 1920s-adjacent and harken back to the classic coasters of early boardwalk amusement parks. Or shoot, they could’ve named it Thunder Road (Carowinds’ TR had closed just a few years before the name change) and given it a light drag racing theme to loosely tie it to the 1950s theme of that back corner of Candy Apple Grove.
I agree, but I understand why they changed it. Setting aside the historical connection, Rebel Yell was just a cool-sounding name. Funny enough, KD has always insisted that the name was inspired by a brand of whiskey named Rebel Yell, not directly by the Confederate battle cry. Nonetheless, the name was destined to be a source of needless controversy, especially when you consider that it was changed around the time of Virginia’s Confederate monument removals and in the wake of the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, and that the national conversation on that subject has only heated up since. They were smart to get ahead of the issue.

While I personally believe Rebel Yell was a far better name then a generic Racer I do understand why the park believed they needed to change it. One can debate what their feelings and beliefs are on the mattervbut it's hard to debate the over all political reality of the time and environment that existed whrn the park made decision that the nane had to go. I personally still refer to it as Rebel Yell just like how Woodstock is still Scooby Doo in my mind and Pantherian is still Intimidator in my mind that just how my mind has lomg linked them and likely always will. That said I do really hope that at some point KD tries to come up with a more original name for it the Racer.
I also agree that the Rebel Yell name had to go, given the potential controversy and very real context of why it needed to change. I personally don’t mind the Racer 75 name (hence my username), but I do think the 75 would be seemingly pointless unless they leaned into the 1970s vibe with the logo, merch, etc.. I do think the 1970s aesthetic they go for does matchup well with what they’re trying to convey in that section of the park, especially given their efforts since the 40th anniversary.
Rebel Yell was a better name than Racer 75, but after Charlottesville the park surely didn't want anything remotely tied to the confederacy that those demons would rally around.....

I personally thought it should have been renamed Thunder Road since it was a Cedar Fair coaster name that was no longer in use at that time.
