That is exactly what happened. Racer 75 is running a modified version of the same lift syncing code developed for Dragons.

Wait...wait...wait.....that's real?!?!?! OMG I want to kiss whoever found that and brought it back to life.

I LOVE Racer’s new lift program. Not only does it make sure the trains are synced and race perfectly every time, but the feature that makes the trains “pull ahead” of each other as the lifts randomly change speeds is so much fun. It’s the little things like this that genuinely make my visits to the park happier.

They didn’t have to find it.

Ondrey (Who singlehandedly wrote the programming code for Dueling Dragons back in 1999 when he was working for Consign) went to KD in early March for a few days to program Racer.

So I'm about to rant a bit. I wanted to post this after visiting earlier this year but it slipped my mind.
Holy Crap was Rebel Yell running rough when I rode. The side closer to the lake (only side operating that day). When ascending the 2nd, or 3rd to last hill, there was a bit of track soo rough it felt like legitimate trick track. Only... not fun.
It was soo disappointing the state of the Rebel Yell. The paint job looked like something Six Flags America would sling. A straight out and back wooden coaster should be as smooth as a wooden coaster can get, regardless of age. For god sakes, there are no high speed turns or banks! I don't want to sound like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli, but there is NO EXCUSE!

Is it possible weather has any effect? I rode it near the end of the summer and it was ok, a little rattly but nothing too out of the ordinary for c what I expect of a fairly older woody.

Otherwise, curious what the track with scenario is this off-season - don't they have RMC or GCI come around to replace some sections of track on this ride and Grizzly on occasion?

They had Gravity Group come in and redo most of Racer’s track for the past couple of years. I personally find it a lot smoother now than it used to be. I think Tony Johnson said in a Q&A that Grizzly is slated to get some track replacement in the future, but he didn’t specify whether that’ll start this off-season or not.

I noticed that roughness first during Winterfest 2018. It is almost too much but as the return trip is relatively boring I kind of like it. There has been a lot of work done on the ride since Cedar Fair took over. I still argue the "real" reason the backwards train went away is it was dangerous enough to ride forward on 2008 so backwards would have been insane (yes I know that's not the cover story but I had hip damage from it that year). The rise into the turnaround was retracked for 2009 and is now getting noticably rough again. After retracking it stood out as much smoother than the rest. Much of the ride has been retracked since, but hasn't made it all the way to the end yet.

I'm glad that they're interested in investing in continuous renovations to a classic - and historic - coaster instead of tearing it down like other parks may have done.

I don't find it very rough at all. It does get a little bumpy on the return trip, but it's fine. Then again I love Grizzly even though it is indeed rough, so maybe I don't count.

I tend to believe the explanation that the cars and track weren’t designed to be reversed. I was on the backwards train one time, when is slipped back down the lift hill. As I was in the back car (so the bottom-most car on the train), it was quite an experience.

On another note, in my opinion, they ruined the first drop, when they redid it a few years ago. I understand why they decided it was the best solution, but I don’t like the result.

The bottom of the first drop doesn’t feel like someone taking a jackhammer to my spine anymore, so in my opinion it’s an improvement.

I usually will too, but with limits. Wild One used to breach those limits, years ago before they fixed that big kink in the first drop. Taught me the hard way that back injury is not always worth the experience. Never imagined R75 would get bad...

I have heard about re-tracking done in recent years which is why I was soo surprised at the rough ride our group experienced. We rode on a very hot day for october. Maybe the roughest moment we hit was a transition between old track to new track, or vice versa IDK. I'm glad they are making an effort but I wonder if separating the years of track re-work is less effective then a full off-season re-track. Another factor are probably the PTC trains. I expect, and look forward to getting beaten up by a Grizzly bear every trip. I'd ideally like to get a different experience from this ride though.
