I think the main reason is simple, people love pizza because it is such an american tradition of sorts, I mean we consume like like thousands of feet of pizza each day. With that in mind I think they want you to walk all the way to Festa and buy the more expensive buffet for pizza.

If you have a Bounce ticket (which includes parking) and would like preferred parking, do they charge you the difference or are you charged full price?

I think we did that last year but I can't seem to remember.

Okay here is one.. What would be the BEST coaster for a 10 year old to ride for her first "adult" coaster in the park? I would say BBW if it were still around... BUT... I just would like opinions or personal experiences from people with their kids.

Note:
She has rode Volcano at KD, and that was the ONLY "adult" ride she got to do. Oh and let me add that if I had taken her, she'd been on all of them except I305. SO, I want to make this an EXCELLENT experience for her...
Thank you in advance.. :D

Nessie first....Verbolten after. And if that one was great...Apollo.

I left Alpengeist out because that's arguably the most "extreme" ride in the park w/6 inversions and no floor. Griffon can wait for another day unless the child gets a MAJOR confidence boost by riding a few other rides first.

For our part, BBW was my niece's first roller coaster when she turned 11 as well, and it was a perfect starter (after getting her warmed up on the Grover coaster).

Up until that point she was SUPER timid when it came to rides and the like, but she loved it so much she got to ride it seven times that weekend (including two more times in a row after that first ride). Too bad that was the last week of BBW.

Verbolten is a good replacement for BBW as a starter coaster, in my opinion.

We'll be at BG tomorrow for 4th of July. Thinking about buying tickets for the fireworks picnic.

My question is, are the seats at the Black Forest Picnic Area really prime location for viewing the fireworks? That's what BG website is saying, but I'm not sure where they set them off from or how line of sight is in that location of the park.

Any other thoughts?

You should be able to see them fairly easy as long as there are no trees above you.

What do you guys think about the weather tonight? weather.com tells me one thing wunderground tells me another... :-/

^
What, PR hasn't posted his BGW flag/color thingy yet?

According to the WeatherBug, Looks like slight chance of rain later in the evening for the show. But higher chances earlier in the afternoon/evening. Bring an umbrella. I'm going tonight!! Got giant GLOW critters & fireworks to see!! Remember, it's a BIG show tonight & tomorrow. :D

Is there a thread about ride maintenance? I'm a mechanic by trade...hydraulics, diesels, pumps etc. just curious if there is anyone who knows someone or has pics of the rides be overhauled in the off season.

If you're going to the park on the first Saturday of HOS, what's a good time to get there? I know in previous years, the park has shut down because of capacity so I want to get there while I still can.

First weekend is generally the least crowded of all the HOS weekends. You'll still have some solid lines for stuff, but don't expect the park to hit capacity. Don't expect the event to be perfect either as the park typically works all the bugs/kinks out by the second or third weekend of the event.
