From what I've heard, it would take a fair bit of money to make it usable again. Years of neglect will do that, I'm afraid.

I'm of two minds with the Pet Shenanigans theater, honestly. On one hand, empty, decrepit venues look bad and should be avoided. On the other, the park has an increasingly large number of empty or underutilized plots that I think are more egregious than Pet Shenanigans theater, I think there are better ways to spend zoo's limited budget than renovating and occupying Pet Shenanigans theater, and I'm not at all enthusiastic about zoo losing that land entirely right now.

Very long term I think there's potential for a significant redevelopment of the entire area (potentially as one of very, VERY few remaining opportunities for a new hamlet), but I don't trust current United Parks to embark on such a radically-park-altering project. I'd much rather all of Wild Reserve remain with zoo in a holding pattern until BGW (hopefully) eventually ends up with better corporate management.

Herschend could do wonders in both BG parks, I just hope they didn’t stretch themselves too thin with all of their recent acquisitions. I have a feeling United will listen to offers for the Busch parks at some point decently soon. If private equity keeps trying to hack and slash the company, it’s only a matter of time.

SDC, Dollywood, BGW, and BGT (and maybe Knott’s) are the clear cut second tier “theme” parks behind Disney and Universal. Herschend could corner that and make a killing catering to theme park enthusiasts and local audiences who demand higher quality post-COVID (and post-seeing Epic Universe all over their socials)

Counter - if Hillpath sells the land out from under the parks, that could put Herschend at a disadvantage since they don't get any of the land equity as part of their purchase.

At that point, they'd be more or less park operations management and not actual owners of anything, subject to the whims of their landlord - look how that position has generally turned out for parks that went this direction.

Agreed. It’s crazy how hard Ireland fell off post COVID. I couldn’t be happier about them bringing the simulator building back to life, but can we find a better use for that theater other than propane tank storage? My fear is that it’s too far gone/rotted back there… Anyways, I’m really hoping either that area or Castle O Sullivan can get usage in the coming years…

Castle O'Sullivan gets used on the regular for special events like summer camp and dinner with Santa etc. I'd like to see it renovated into a members lounge like what Cedar Fair is doing for prestige pass holders and VIP guests. Of course, that can go anywhere though.

With the way the park has been traveling along nostalgia road lately, I'd like to see Shenanigans Theater become the Bird Circus again. The theater is not all gone. The guests seating area needs cleaned up and some lumber needs replaced but the building isn't particularly falling apart. It wouldn't take much to do what they need to do to make the animal area and stage usable again.

Im suprised they havent used castle for a paied expeirence for HoS. Would be cool as hell to see a halloween themed magic show in there or something

Only issue I see there from a business perspective is time guests are off paths and costs associated with it. You’re likely talking a 60-90 minute show, that requires huge staffing, a highly trained and specialized staff, that needs a decent sized space. It likely would be an upcharge show, so then you have to counteract all of that with how many people would likely spend the $50-70 it would take to do that.

I don’t mind the idea of a new show being added but having it also next to one of the most popular shows is a tough sell to me from a park resources utilization.

If they ever add a new show I hope it would be in Festa area. Along with that hamlet getting major love in theme and ride updates.

I would hope if they ever use CoS for an attraction it’s either a station for a family friendly launch coaster that mostly resides outside the park, or a launch tower reviving the dragon lair tower concept that goes out the roof.

that's where I'm at another thrill ride to balance the park.
I would like something more like this Big Dipper by Mack Rides – Compact Layout, Big Thrills. or better yet a euro fighter that climbs straight up out of the building. Euro-Fighter.

I really like the idea of smallish train leaping from rooftop to rooftop in Ireland and possibly out and back over the park entrance or England.
