To be completely honest no matter what GAdv did it was in a lose lose because of how Ka’s closure went down.
Nothing will ever be Ka. So people will always have something to say. This ride will always be in Ka’s shadow to people.

As for people being unhappy or mad…. I’ve not seen much of that at all! I’ve seen the complete opposite. I’ve seen people saying this is going to be one of the most diabolical experiences ever.

The ONLY thing people are genuinely pissed off about is the idea of this being called Gargantuan Vertical Vengence.
Which makes me happy that everyone has joined together to be mad about a ride ruining name.

I cannot wait to see this thing cycle and see a completed boardwalk with whatever they’re adding in 2028.
Honestly I'm not incredibly happy with project purple, at least Ka was a coaster I could ride back to back without getting sick. I had the same mindset of ND for awhile, up until they started building it and it looked "okay". I'm still not incredibly impressed but I'm not gonna shit on it until 1) I actually go to the park and see it in person or 2) I ride it. I only rode Ka 3 times so I don't think I have much of a bias other than seeing commercials when I was a kid and thinking it was the coolest thing ever, it was a really fun ride and yeah it was a gimmick coaster, but I really don't think pp is gonna be "better". I'm willing to eat my words though.

Blind Praise. If you look in the background of that painting I think you can see the 382 foot tall tower of project purple peering over the wall.
I mean, at the last meeting of the Secret Society of Forced Praise for Project Purple we did all vote and approve the painting of that work to help sway feeble minds to our cause. Of course we snuck the Purple Tower of Positivity in there!

Right? Lol my point was I was able to ride Ka more than once because it didn't spin, if pp spins wildly like it's suspected it will it'll most likely be a one and done for me.
Mack extreme spinners don't spin wildly like the wild mice do. I'm not saying people who are very prone to motion sickness won't be bothered, but I am saying that it really isn't as bad as you might think, and its not like you were marathoning Ka.

You said yourself you would Reserve judgement, I meant to say thats wise, but apparently some people find my sense of humor nauseating.

Is that new lighting Rod installed at the top of tower adding additional height to the 382ft? If it’s 18 ft tall above the tower, then they can market this as 400ft.
We don't know. It's all up in the air, pardon the pun, as mixed messages are coming from the park and content creators. Guessing we may not get clarity until the supposed announcement on the 28th.

I also said "could" not that I *DID*, I realize I should have worded that better.

That rod is at least 25ft tall. If you use the platform as a reference, by law the railing around the platform has to be around 42in tall. The lightning rod goes about 7x the height of the platform.

Coliwood seems to think the name will start with a "B" based on the teaser. I think the "B" he is referring to in the teaser simply stands for "Boat". Who knows though 🤷‍♂️

I’d be surprised if he didn’t already know the name but that’s just my own speculation and not based off of anything concrete

You'll see me out here locking arms with @northdetective if/when the park tries to market this coaster as being [insert height number taller than the max track height reached by a train during normal operation].

Great Adventure can say the TOWER is X number of feet counting the buffer track, counting the FAA light, counting the lightning rod, whatever—but I refuse to accept the COASTER being marketed as being that same height. Coaster height, in the absolute most charitable interpretation I believe we should even consider accepting, is the max track height reached by coaster trains during normal operations.

If I had my way, I would say these shuttle coaster heights should be determined by the max track height reached by the MIDPOINT of the train as that is the average guest experience on-ride, but I won't fall on my sword over that delta. I will happily rally against SFGAdv counting unused track height and unused tower height in the coaster height number though. I have mocked Magic Mountain for my entire thoosie career for their ultra-bullshit Superman: The Escape claims and I'll be here to do the same for Great Adventure if Great Adventure's marketing team decides to step on that same rake.

Great points. I agree with you, everyone riding would have to be above 400 ft for me to consider it a strata. Interesting to see how they are going to market this…especially if the tower itself is indeed 400 ft.

No one is claiming the tower is 400. The dispute at the moment is whether it's the heavily publicized 375' or this surprise, unannounced 382' figure that was floated last weekend.
