This is the craziest looking purple thing I’ve seen in a theme park since the Purple Thing.

the superior Mock tower

"Mock" Tower

In the video he says it's taller than the track. I think in one of the update videos it was said the strobe mount on the end of the track was just a temporary thing.
Stephen the construction manager mentioned it in one of the recent videos. They had the light on the top of the track and he seemed to indicate that that would be changed and wasn't planned to be. If I were to recklessly speculate, there's a possibility that the change in height was because they had to add that post which looks a couple feet taller than the top of the track. But, that wouldn't explain the additional new claim that the trains are going to 375 ft. We know they're not going on that last bit of track that touches 375 because there are bumpers on it and different supports.

Reactions: Great Adventurer
Press release sent out with the teaser confirms the 382 ft. height:

“Earlier this summer, the attraction reached its full height of 382 feet, becoming the tallest structure at Six Flags Great Adventure. While construction has reached several key milestones, the park has yet to reveal the attraction's official name, theme, ride experience, or opening date.”

I know people are still upset over this ride, but I personally think this looks like a great replacement. I was on the fence with top thrill 2, but while I did miss that forceful launch, the change resulted in what I feel was a better overall ride experience. I think the same will hold true with this. Would it have been cool if the ride was the same height or taller as KA, sure, but I don't think that will matter to most people.

Slightly off topic, but my dislike of TT2 is the concept of the swing launch (acknowledging that I haven't ridden it). I would have preferred to see the launch continue up the tower and complete a little more of a circuit after that.

I think when the "GP" sees the overall concept all together (not everyone follows this as much of the boards do) and understands they will come around on this. I will say though, if this went to a different plot (like other side of the park) and Ka was removed (so timeline the same) I don't think the "GP" would think of it as heavily as a Ka "replacement".

I would say what helped get me on board is thinking of GVV/PS/PP was thinking of it as the spiritual successor to KK. It's not a replacement. It's the evolution of extreme coaster limits in the current version of the coaster wars.
