Really good sense of scale so far in this photo.

Outside of the scale of project purple …
I’m almost more intrigued with the fenced off area. I hope they don’t give that back to the parking lot because that to me looks like a FANTASTIC plot for a Vekoma family coaster. Still leaving Ka’s plot available for something bigger

Also the crane...

I saw the ride from the boardwalk in person for the first time and gotta say....the pictures don't do it justice. It has a real presence in that area, not quite in the same way Ka used to but it definitely gives off a similar effect. This thing is absolutely massive, and looking at the way its set up I definitely agree with what was said earlier about how the games were probably removed to allow for a clear view of the ride sign. The station is much closer to the pathway than I was expecting when looking at photos and video.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but everyone has been focusing on the stall launching but on the way back, the ride has to slow you down from 100ish mph. The valley LSM section isn't going to do all of that so we also get to experience a decelerating stall or a slow hanging stall like what Flash does. Definitely a lot of brand new tricks on this thing.

The stall is going to produce some of the most unique hangtime we’ve ever seen on both trips through it. That alone has me sold on it, the fact that it leads to/returns from a giga tower (given how close it is to a strata, almost certainly the tallest giga we’ll see for a VERY long time, if not ever) is the icing on the cake.

Can’t stress enough how grateful I am for how open they’ve been with construction, flat out encouraging it. Given where we were on a communication standpoint from this park a year and a half ago, that’s just as exciting to me as 3 coasters in 3 years and a much needed flat package, used or not.

Project Purples cost. It cannot be anything under 15-20 million no?
I'd be shocked if it was. It's hard to formulate a real guess with the current world situation, but I'd assume the absolute minimum here is $30 mil. Sure, there's not as much physical track here as Time Traveler, and it being a shuttle gets double the use of each piece of track; but going almost 400ft in the air is probably just as expensive as an extra 1,000ft of track, supports, and foundations would be.

(and a bonus: I'd have to dig to find it, but I'm pretty sure there was a clip about either SDC or Plopsaland saying their (4-car) trains were a million each)

I
A bit from that CBS segment about SFOT that I keep thinking about is Tormenta Rampaging Run costing between 40-50 million dollars.

When was the last time we’ve seen such a massive monetary investment into one singular ride?

Makes me wonder about Project Purples cost. It cannot be anything under 15-20 million no?
I remember the former park president saying this was a 50 M investment when KA closure was announced. If true, it’s interesting to speculate about the size of an alternative coaster we could have gotten. In today’s economy, a full circuit giga coaster (like fury) may even be more than 50 M. It’s actually quite impressive we are getting such as tall coaster in todays market and it does fill in for Ka presence well. It already looks quite commanding and impressive from the boardwalk.

No matter what, 50 million pre or post tariff spike is irrelevant… that’s a Huge amount of money.

Now, the question stands does that 50 million investment include the demolition and removal of Ka, lantern and surrounding attraction's along with re theme, restructure, transportation, and building expenses for shoreline pier as well? Or is it only for project purple and the area she will sit on.

I’d really love to see the financial breakdown of these areas and know what the true investment is. Be it 50 million all in for the next 5 years or 50 million to do what we see now and then however much more Invested over the course of the next few.

The problem with debating a project's price tag is: A. We don't know everything included (demo of the previous ride lumped into the project), B. Prices are crazy right now due to tariffs and inflation, and C. It's all kind-of irrelevant because we all look at these things as major attractions no matter if they spend $1 million or $100 million on it. I've never been big on cost as a factor for these things, more focused on results.

They also teased about the name “phantom spire” too. Maybe this would be themed to a sea monster or have a different name. They are definitely trying to get us all excited with these posts! The GP is prob seeing this coaster being build and like “omg it’s KA 2” with the stall looking like the camelback and big tower being built now 😂
