Hopefully the new shipments come in this week and they can begin laying the next launch section.

The rear supports of the tower are in place so they must be waiting on track.

Also I can only again hope with the view form under the track they are teasing this will be a view guests can have of the ride via a pathway

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but everyone has been focusing on the stall launching but on the way back, the ride has to slow you down from 100ish mph. The valley LSM section isn't going to do all of that so we also get to experience a decelerating stall or a slow hanging stall like what Flash does. Definitely a lot of brand new tricks on this thing.

Anyways I fully anticipate if there's any braking in the stall on the return it will be vomit-inducing for me personally. That's my new concern. Whatever happens at least I'll feel powerful knowing neither train can run until mine is cleaned

And the weather through Saturday will be 60-80 degrees. Clear sky’s. Hopefully they make some tremendous progress

I am really hoping for a twist element on the top of the tower! It would be incredible hanging upside down 300ft + with only a lap bar. I think a twist could be possible but have to wait and see for more track! If we do get a twist on the tower, it could be the world’s tallest inversion. Maybe we get a surprise.

Much of the ground under where this ride is going was pavement before construction began. I'd say its premature to interpret it being some sort of indicator of a path between the Boardwalk and Golden Kingdom.

Edit: Ohhhh....were you referring to what looks like new-pour concrete, separated with the black/red short "walls"?

A twist has been confirmed by the track pieces on-site for a curve around the tower. They've been there since early days. We'll be at the least sideways at some point near the top. Not sure about a full inversion, though. Will depend on how things fit together up-top.

That might still be old pavement. That's where the media folks walked during the last site visit. Unless they pulled and replaced it.

Hear me out: What if they built a ramp up, bridge over the launch track, and ramp down into Golden Kingdom instead? There's enough room next to Barrels of Fun to pull that off.

Hear me out: What if they built a ramp up, bridge over the launch track, and ramp down into Golden Kingdom instead? There's enough room next to Barrels of Fun to pull that off.

That would have to basically be enclosed (whether by netting or building) to prevent people from throwing stuff at a moving train or the track, right?

Yeah there would almost certainly need to be a lot of netting on the bridge to prevent that from happening, honestly thats the only reason I'm skeptical of this happening. I do definitely think there needs to be some sort of viewing area for the launch, almost like what Ka originally had before the accident.

I wonder if SF (by extension of legacy CP) would be weary to do so from the TTD lawsuit. I know everything has changed about the launch and all, but I can really see a world where they don’t really have this ride have much pathway interaction.

Unlike Ka, there's no catch car/cable launch to worry about here. Loose objects may also be less of an issue if they do double-sided lockers and use metal detection?



They could do something like this (this photo is from Wing Gliders testing before they added nets around the log sections next to the bridge for the ride's safety envelope). This even kinda looks like what I was picturing with a "Boardwalk" look, even if it's probably made out of concrete with a themeing treatment added on. It would just be at the end of the straight launch track on Project Purple.

Similar to The Flash's pathway under the ride, this would provide another way in and out of the land. Only difference is, the walkway would be elevated under the ride?

Yeah I was responding to the comment about the closed Ka viewing area. This ride is less risky to put people close to, unlike that ride with the Hydraulic launch mechanism. Don't have to worry about cable snapping, parts shearing off the catch car, etc. hitting guests in close proximity.

I would still think there’s going to be some degree of trepidation from letting people be close to the ride.
