What ever happened with those trees that were marked on the path to the base camp? Some were speculating way back when that a footer could potentially go in that spot.

I was looking in that area from El Toro’s lift hill last weekend and it looked like they were all there still. I’m wondering if eventually that road will be re-routed around the new coaster, and that’s why they were tagged.
This ^^^^ Figure the walkway, road, and layout around the tower will be totally different as they tear up the parking lot around the tower base and path of the track. Some or all of those trees may go to make all the landscape changes happen. I can see them straightening that driveway over to the Safari lot so it runs straight down the left side of the new coaster, which is where the parking lot will now end. Some trees will have to go to run the road straight across that grassy median if they go this route.

I almost think that since the PR team knew that everyone suspected what this was, they've just decided to build it in our faces. I for one, love it.

Quick in-progress update of what I think we're looking at here:
I think I've spotted the next piece that goes on the end of that angled tripod, should look like this. and once that's installed, I believe that will connect onto the main tower itself.

The permit has the height at 375 feet. To get over 300 feet the trains will need to be going at least 90mph. It seems like there will be 3 launches... the initial launch out of the station (maybe 65mph?), then you enter the stall and launch again upside down (add another 10-15mph so now the train is doing 75-80), and then I assume there will need to be another launch to get you fully up the tower portion to get over 90mph. I'm very curious what the tower portion will be like.

He stated there was no more launch sections on site but that part is infact a launch section. They Must be waiting for a shipment with the remaining track pieces. He mentions there’s supports for a catwalk and calculated the launch section is only roughly 4-5 pieces of track so it’s a short 3rd launch into the tower

I have a bad feeling that we’re not getting a tower and instead a spike similar to what exists on TT2. Here’s the support structure for TT2s spike, and it looks very similar to what we’re starting to see take shape with project purple
I get that it’s ironic that I’m now complaining about this construction after I haven’t for so long, but a simple spike that only travels up 300ft or so would be incredibly disappointing. One of the few rides we’ve seen where we end up seeing a decently downscaled version of what was on the survey.

That's not happening. Look at the shape of the track pieces for the tower.
I mean, since the start this has always been a spike, it’s not coming back down the other side. I don’t think there are any structural differences between a “tower” and a “spike,” they’re just a tall section of track that a train goes up, stalls, and rolls back down.
Purely based off the track pieces on site, I can guarantee it will not just be a vertical spike like TT2. Again, from what I'm seeing, I believe the train will rise up the tower (possibly beyond vertically), flatten out horizontally (like a regular tophat would do), curve to the left and begin outward banking, while wrapping around to the front side of the tower, then stall out.
Technically that is still a spike, but much more than just a TT2 style spike. They say the structure will max out at 375, so I'd estimate the bulk of the outward bank section will be around 350ft in the air at least.
Tbh, I agree with this. The track pieces look to do a-lot and I'm sure they can regardless of whether it's a tower or spike. I think to me this will be more TT2 style. I only see two more major footers to work with now. I can't see how that could create a tower. Then again, I'm no expert on this.
I guess if it's a spike, it's okay, but I personally would be let down. I liked the 4 point tower, or even the three point tower that was rendered with the light house. Of course I didn't expect it to be identical, but those were beautiful.
I'm not really understanding. If there were just a vertical spike where would the outerbank pieces go? Are we talking about a Cheetah Hunt style mostly level turn after the incline vs a more elongated helix up the structure?
If this coaster is not a tower with outer banks, it would really dampen the spinning elements. The spinning in my view really would enchase the outer banks where rides directly down with unconstructed views.
Folks, there’s a zero percent chance this is a TT2 style vertical spike; there aren’t any straight track pieces in the parking lot, and there are a ton of tight-radius twisting pieces
They’re still waiting for track shipments. Notice the lack of LSM pieces in the lot? They’re waiting for a delivery. So it’s possible other pieces will be part of that shipment
