Well here's the situation the park is in. Enthusiasts generally don't matter but they are a nice steady cash flow that parks can typically rely on year in and year out (they're also the ones who are more likely to buy the more premium passes). Ka's closure ruffled a lot of feathers so the park is definitely trying to get them back on board and being open about the construction is part of how they're doing that. The other big thing is that they aren't ready to announce the ride to the general public yet, right now they're relying on word of mouth which enthusiasts are also good for because us nerds can't shut up about these parks. I'm pretty sure all my friends know way to much about this ride thanks to me lmao.I'm not mad. Simply observing the disconnect between Great Adventure and the people they intend to market to. Simultaneously I'm constantly told thoosies aren't a market that matters, and now they're the only people getting to see construction up close. Are they the only people who would care? I don't think so personally
That’s a great point! Coaster enthusiasts have been digging for info for almost two years already. With no former announcement yet, it definitely nice to see outreach to break up the waiting and rebuild relations with enthusiasts.Well here's the situation the park is in. @Zachary, can we perhaps get this back on topic?

I really don't want to get into the "will this ride be better than ka" argument again because its just not very productive right now. But I think we should all give this ride at least some grace and actually ride it before we start arguing whether or not this is better than ka. I'm still in the camp that I think Ka will be the better ride but I said the same thing with dragster too. And while I myself haven't gotten to ride Top Thrill 2, 9 out of the 10 people I've talked to who have ridden both of those attractions actually prefer TT2. Who knows, we've never seen anything like this ever built before and anything is possible.I mean I'd have been happier being able to FOIA the plans without obstruction years ago than I am getting drip fed info about how this coaster is even shorter and slower than expected (via influencers via Reddit) now, but I know somehow I'm in the minority. How the other coaster enthusiasts consider anything but a better coaster to be an "apology," I don't know
Sorry but this is a little off putting. Reads like "like what's going on or stay out".I mean, if you're not interested in this project, you can just mark the thread read and move on. No one is making anyone read all the posts in this thread. If you're just coming here to see the latest photos, quickly scrolling down the page looking for photos doesn't see that difficult either?
We're not asking for a loop like that. I would love conversation about the ride to be more prevalent. Conversation around the updates is amazing. The marketing surrounding the coaster is just as much a part of the project as the ride hardware itself in my opinion. I love the consistent progress photos just as much as everyone else, but if the thread was just "[New Photos] [Everyone Claps Like Seals] [Loop]," I, personally, think that would get pretty boring pretty fast.
I agree that anywhere the discussion starts dwelling on broad marketing/comms strategy, those conversations would be better housed in a theoretical SFGAdv "Marketing, Advertising, and Park Communications" thread, but as long as the discussion is primarily focused around the discussion of this project's marketing, this is almost certainly the thread for it.

to be clear I wasn't comparing anything to Kingda Ka like some of you so desperately wish I were. I was comparing the current version of the capacity-limited two-element stall shuttle to the hypothesized version that was over 400 feet or even the version that took the North American height record. I think more should be read into the reluctance to add 46 feet, and less should be read into the "access" represented in the deliberately slow release of information via thoosietube, because only one of those decisions *could* have a tangible impact on the success of the ride, in my opinion.
Breaking news:
I actually just did my own deep analysis of project 2027 and I discovered some amazing things. Im very happy to say this 2027 project is in fact a rollercoaster and it will in fact be purple in color.
Cue the chorus of Golden
This is what we've got now. The two outer footers look like the same width of the threesome, but they appear to be a foot or two taller since they needed ladders to put the bolts on. I suppose it's possible there are more footers to pour out at the end, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't have already since they're nearly at the tower with the track and support installation. It's an interesting stance for tower supports if this is all the footers.Looks like a short run between the end of the stall into the tower. I'm curious to see the arrangement of this. If it is the three point tower, then i think it will have more twist to it.
